Not easy to stay on top for a long time in the food business. Louisiana menu, service and staff set the standard for fine dining locally. Pricey yes, but you get what you pay for.

“Restaurant Week”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

First let me say the food is good. I went on August 3rd, Friday evening for restaurant week. I had a party of 6 but only 3 (including myself) were there to be seated. We valet parked which was $5.00. The attendant didn't have on any company clothes so you would of never known he worked there. At least a logo t-shirt would of been nice. Moving along we walked throught the door and gave our name and party size. We sat in front of the hostess table you can see the decor which was very victorian like which was beautiful. The valet driver had several car keys on the table at the front door approx 20 which made me friend feel uncomfortable , as the attendant went to move card. Mind you there is only one. We sat down and too our surprise it was completely packed but not over crowded. It is extremely quite in there and looks so formal with the chandiliers you would think you were over dressed.

Moving along the evening started off well. We got our menus placed drink orders, the waitress told us everything was delicious and gave us her recommendations. Us 3 placed our course orders for all 3 off the prix fix menu. I ordered the crab cake which for an app size was a nice size. The salmon for dinner and bread pudding for dessert.

Well we ordered apps that came out in a decent time as we placed our order at 8:45 and told the waitress we did not want to wait for the rest of our party for our entree's well she agreed and we proceeded with our dinner. Never any refills on drinks that were asked to us we had to request them. As the rest of our party arrived nearly 35 mins later another service came over and started taking their order. So now we had to servers servicing our table but no one servicing it. Yes they took our order but they never followed up with us. maybe it was the 20% gratituty they automattically add for a party of 6. We had a child as well as they had no childrens menu the waitress did give us a nutrigrain bar and a side of mashed potatoes the 2 year old loved it.

Eventhough, we requested our food not come with the rest of our party it did. So I sat waiting an hour and ten mins for my dinner which I was very upset about. At least it was hot and good but I could of did without the long wait and need more attentive servers. Just because your tip is already included does not mean you can neglect your table

“Sshh!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

I should start off this review by mentioning that, without a doubt, the food here is great. The ambiance, however, is lacking big time. Despite the restaurant being completely full, I felt as though you could hear a pin drop and that everyone was listening in to my conversations. Maybe I just went on an off night, but it was a Friday night! Based on this alone, I don't want to go back. Plenty of places in Baltimore have great food and great atmosphere, so why settle?

“Worst Dining Experience Ever...Shameful!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2012

Three of us went to Louisiana for dinner tonight. We were immediately surprised when we entered the restaurant by the mess in the front area. Boxes of wine left scattered in the corners, a table topped with an oversized vase and a couple of dead flowers and various pieces of trash littering the floor. A disheveled server/hostess, we could never figure out exactly what her role was, eventually greeted us, asked our name and appeared surprised that our party had 3 versus the two that was written in the book. She informed us our table was not ready but would be shortly. We were eventually taken to our table...we were guided past the main dining area of about 10 or so tables and taken to a larger room where only three tables had guests. A bit surprising for restaurant week....and the chaotic feel from the servers/hosts that ran around in a panicked state all night explaining they were incredibly busy. Our server, our best guess was that she never waited tables prior to this evening, knew little about being a professional server and had an uneducated and rude demeanor. She took our order after several apologies for having us wait so long. After approximately 45 minutes our dinners arrived....unfortunately, we had not received our drinks or our appetizers......so we asked to please get our appetizers first. The servers would gather at a table not far from ours, to dump other customers dirty dishes and share glazed over confused stares as food was brought in from the kitchen. They would discuss amongst themselves which table they believed the food belonged to....many times.....making a wrong guess. Our crab bisque eventually was delivered (still before our drinks) about an hour after we arrived. Although somewhat tasty...the soup had so much oil that the consistency was odd and left quite a bit to be desired especially considering the cool temperature. Our main course arrived about 1/2 hour later...mashed potatoes served in a round ball...similar to an ice cream scooper....or the way mashed potatoes are served at a local greasy spoon diner. The filet mignon was undercooked....and we love rare...but this was ridiculous...and the salmon was dry. The service was so slow and inattentive. The dirty dishes piling up on a near by table were never cleared and provided the view for the evening. The one server ran around frantically all night while the other server walked around in circles....neither one providing proper service to anyone. As diners would get up from the tables to leave they would comment to those of us still unfortunate to be there...and they would comment on what a terrible experience they had....and we would nod in disappointed agreement. Dessert was the one and only highlight of the night.....but certainly not worth the horror of getting there. I honestly believe the restaurant should be closed down and not be allowed to participate in restaurant week. In all the years of dining the three of us have experienced....this was by far the absolute worst. Absolutely terrible!!!! I should have realized prior to going there....there are so many typos on their website...restaurant is even spelled incorrectly!!!!
