La Scala in Baltimore was one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of going to. My girlfriend and I just went to the restaurant last weekend and we loved the experience. First, we walked around the inner harbor and Little Italy and were able to enjoy the beauty around the restaurant. We then easily found the restaurant and were able to get a nice parking spot right out front. (Or you could partake in the $6.00 valet service). Upon arrival, we did wait a little while for our table to be ready but was astonished when we saw a regulation sized Bocce Ball court right in the lower level of the restaurant which was very unique. We were then taken up a flight of stairs to our table which was nicely set for our arrival. After we sat down, we were then able to look around the restaurant to truly see how beautiful it was and how quant it was. Immersed in fine art and and interesting architecture, La Scala really does paint a small picture of Italy for it's customers. We were then approached by our fairly nice waiter. He was a decent waiter, who didm't seem to be the most friendly of waiters in which I've encountered, but did his job accordingly and made sure we were attended to and had everything we needed. The selection was the hardest part of the entire night. After the plethora of wine choices and large amount of entrees to choose from, I decided to go with the 14 oz. New York Strip Steak while my girlfriend had the Gnocchi Della Casa. After not waiting to long, both meals were presented and unbelievable. I highly recommend both of them. Not only were they delicious, but the proportions were also fit to fill any appetite. Not even counting the abundance of side dishes and bread that came along with our meals. Then came the check, I was extremely surprised when food of such quality and size did not require such a heavy price. Overall, with the high quality of the restaurant itself, its atmosphere, its food, and the price in which we paid, all were factors which made the restaurant in general, one of the best places to east in Baltimore.
