Ze Mean Bean has the best Eastern European food in Baltimore. A small, intimate restaurant with live music most nights, it's a delightful place to try its wide selection of Polish and other Eastern European foods.

This little gem is somewhat overlooked because of its location. If you like slavic food, or just good food in general, head over to Ze Mean Bean for a great romantic dinner. The food is amazing and the service was on point. Beer selection and specials were also great. Planning to visit again in the near future!

Ze Mean Bean Cafe has been in Baltimore for years and i've never been tempted to try it because of the odd name. If it were Cafe Budapest or Cafe Prague it would be more alluring.
That said, the restaurant is fabulous, warm and cozy like the inside of a jewel box! It is small and reminds me a bit of the fine small places in Paris. It seats about 24 plus a bar. Their
Pierogies are bites of heaven, and although i had never wanted to taste borsht, it too was
delicious. The cost is reason $14-18 for dinners in the evening, stuffed cabbage, beef goulash.
Perhaps unfamiliar to you, this food is solid comfort! The service was attentive and the night
we were there, there was an accordian playing softly. Ummmm!!!

Eastern European restaurant & wine bar is indeed a find. Weekend brunch menu, fab Polish & Hungarian fare with a new world twist to some old standards. Desserts are all home made. You won't be disappointed.

On Sundays they have a Jazz brunch with about 18 different styles of eggs Benedict. What a great find for breakfast. Prices are reasonable and the food is great. Nice change from the regular diner food/
