“Old World Baltimore”
Reviewed October 5, 2010

While visiting Baltimore for a football game 4 of my friends and me included were looking for good food at a reasonable price. We were tired of the chain restaraunts at the Inner Harbor and wanted something authentic. Our cab driver suggested Michaels for crabcakes. The decor was old school baltimore but to our delight the crabcakes were amazing. They were the size of softballs, and biggest crabmeat I had ever seen. We had a great waiter who then recommended we come back the following nite for 40oz. steak for $16.95. Thursday night is 40OZ. STEAK NIGHT 40OZ. Are you kidding me? The Prime Rib was tender and had great flavor. It was too big to finish. Even though our team lost to the Ravens Michaels made our week long trip.

“WOW! Here's the beef!”
Reviewed August 7, 2009

Spent a few nights in Baltimore for an event at the Convention Center, and a friend and I were looking for a place to get a good steak dinner. We didn't want a chain restaurant, and definitely didn't want a $50 steak dinner. A search through TripAdvisor turned up Michaels Steak House on Eastern Avenue. We asked a cab driver for a recommendation and he suggested Outback (SHEESH!) and after asking, confirmed that Michaels is good if you want to make the trip out to it.

Michaels Steak and Lobster House is located out on Eastern Avenue, about a $20 cab ride from downtown. A canvas awning covers a red carpet that extends from the curb line to the front door of the restaurant. When you open the door, you step back in time to a 1950s/1960s era family run restaurant, where the beef seems to be king. I ordered the prime rib, and the piece of meat that hit the table reminded me of the one that tipped over Fred Flintstone's car at the drive-in movies! This 24 ounce monster, still with the rib attached, was prepared perfectly, sliced easily and melted in my mouth. The meal included two side dishes for only $18.95! We saw a 40 ounce Porterhouse steak hit a table near ours, and that too was only $18.95! The staff was friendly and courteous, just as you would expect from an old family run restaurant.

I'd highly recommend this place for those with a hankering for a great steak.

“Excellent seafood and steaks”

I would highly recommend Michaels for their stuffed seafood and shrimp. Their steaks and prime rib are also excellent. The food is very reasonable, nice portion size and always tasty. The place is casual and has good serice.
