We ate here many times during my daughter's four years at Hopkins--it was an inexpensive place to take a group of her friends for a quick meal. They enjoyed the Mexican food, and there were burgers available for my husband and son who don't. The service was always lackluster, and they tend to run out of things, plus they don't serve drinks on some days of the week (they have a limited license or something like that) so it was a bit unpredictable, but still a standby for college kids.

Poor service. Dreadfully awful food. At most Mexican restaurants you're warned that the plate is hot when it's placed before you. Here they should warn you that the plate is cold. The rice was COLD, the beans had only the barest hint of warmth. The entrees had too much sugar. Why did they even put a sweetener in carnitas?
The server was abrupt, disinterested and inattentive.
KEEP AWAY.

Very tasty laid back place to enjoy a mojito and chips and a meal. Do not miss this place.
It is not the easiest place if you are downtown but get out and visit. You will be able to walk around this region before eating with the locals.

Talk about offbeat, Holy Frijoles is a fun place to eat and to watch the world go by. If you want, pretense, this is not the place for you to go. The servings are large, the vegetarian options many, and there is a lot of carne for the meat-eaters. Service is excellent, if casual.

The chorizo-filled enchiladas are great and come with too many fries for us to navigate.

Have eaten lunch here several times and it is always a pleasure. Just try to get there a bit off hours so you can sit in the window and watch the world.

Better than Blue Agave Mexican in Federal Hill, this restaurant located on 36th Street (on the Avenue) in the Hampden area, great tacos, awesome margaritas and tasty food. Within walking distance from my home, I'll definitely recommend this place for Mexican food, you can't beat it. Restaurant has its own style and flavor.
