From start to finish everything was excellent. Service was very good, even though they were busy (Preakness weekend) we were not rushed.

We ate at the branch of Ruth Chris on Water Street. They have pick up/return service to local hotels if you call in advance. We were staying at the Hyatt and this was helpful.
The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice! The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and looked lovely!
The food was a disappointment considering all the raves I had heard about Ruth Chris!
My husband thoroughly enjoyed the chopped salad which he said was the best part of his meal! It was unusual and a great combination of vegetables to make it unusual.
We both ordered the petite filets. They came out a plate with no presentation or anything else to make it look appealing. My husbands looked like a thin, shriveled piece of meat. Because we ordered them medium well, both were butterflied which we knew in advance. My steak had grizzle and fat throughout it. I have had just as good steaks in local chain restaurants as half the price.
He ordered the hash browns which just looked like a big pancake. no onions or special seasoings.
My potatoes au gratin were okay - the cheese topping was good but the potatoes underneath were undercooked and hard.
We did get a complimentary piece of chocolate cake as we were
celebrating our anniversary.
Most likely, I would not go there again as there are so many choices in the area. However, I do want to say the atmosphere was very nice and it was a relaxing meal - just the food did not rate high!

The chopped salad is among my favorite foods ever. We love everything there. The lamb is especially excellent, if you want something different. The tuna and the swordfish are both terrific. And my husband loves the filet. We prefer the downtown location for its sophistication, but the Owings Mills restaurant is also high quality, just a little more casual.

Thank Nicci
