Matthews is off the main track, in Eastern Baltimore, so you have to make it your goal. It's small, but friendly, a real mix of people local and from far neighborhoods, all there because Matthews makes a thick and crispy crust with fresh ingrediants on the top (they'll let you ask for custom made) and absolutely made to order at the time, hot out of the oven in a personal size, but a generous one. It is the perfect place to hang out if you get there in time for a table, but it has a small bar to wait in, sort of like a dungeon though. It's great for take out for parties, which we've done a lot, and everyone loves having his/her own pizza with that incredible crust. But being there is part of the joy of Matthew's, just looking at all the pictures and other stuff on the walls, seeing the tiny kitchen. Very friendly and long-standing staff.
