“Pleasant hotel; good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2014

I stayed at this hotel while in Baltimore for a weekend. The front desk service is friendly and efficient. The room is quiet and comfortable. The hotel offers a complementary breakfast ... strong on white bread, pastries, eggs and bacon, some fruit ... but not healthier foods like whole wheat breads or variety of yogurts. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the Inner Harbor area plus pleasant, up-scale restaurants in and around the harbor. Real drawback is after hours. Not so pleasant walking around the area at night.

Dear Shimon53,

As a Seinor Contributor to Trip Advisor, your opinion is very improtant to us and to the traveling public. Thank you for taking the time to review the Hampton Inn & Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor and for your comments about the friendly and efficient service. As our most popular amenity, Hampton is continually updating the options available for our complimentary free hot breakfast. There are a limited number of healthier items (hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, low fat muffins) and recent menu changes have made the existing items healthier, however I will ceartainly pass your feedback along for consideration.

While there can be a lot of activity on the streets around the hotel, particularly on weekend nights, our location on Redwood Street is actually quite safe. Of course we do reccomend that guests use common sense and remain aware of their surroundings as they would in any major urban area, but we rarely have any unwanted activity too close to the hotel. The central doentown business district is currently undergoing a major revitilization and we are very excited about what the future of this neighborhood will bring.

Thank you again for your time and for your contribution. I hope that we will have the chance to host you again should your travel plans bring you to Baltimore.

Best regards,

We were very pleased with our stay at the Hampton during a week long visit to Baltimore. Harbor sites, conference center, Camden Yards and experiences are within walking distance. Train stations are easily accessible using free bus services or walking. Friendly and warm staff.

Dear Shannonl454,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on Trip Advisor and for pointing out that we are not your typical Hampton Inn & Suites. Built in 1906, our building spent the first 90 years of it's life as the headquarters of USF&G, one of the top banking institutions in Baltimore. When the property was turned into a hotel in 2004, many of the intersting and ornate design elements of the property were kept and our recent renovation of the lobby, breakfast area and meeting space give the property a true boutique feel.

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you found the hotel as a convenient jumping off point for exploring Baltimore and thank you for yor kind words about the staff. Please do keep us in mind for any future trips that you may take to Charm City.

Convenient to Inner Harbor area.
Continental breakfast in neat lobby/seating off to the left of entrance.
We had maybe 20 people in our group so the lobby was a great place to convene and have coffee/tea there while figuring out where we were going next.
Rooms were fine. Bed a little harder than we like it.
Indoor pool and exercise room seemed great but didn't have time to use.
Paid $436.14 for two nights including $32 per night for valet parking that you could take your car in and out which is convenient if you're driving around town.

Dear Viggiante,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor and for taking the time to review our property. As a Top Contributor to Trip Advisor your opinion is very improtant to us. I am glad to hear that your group found the lobby area a good place to convene and regroup.

I apologize that you found the beds to be a little too firm for your liking. Half of our beds were replaced last summer and the other half will be done this summer. Unfortunately the firmness of a mattress is a very personal thing and it is difficult to determine what the correct firmness for everyone is.

Although many Baltimore attractions are withing walking distance, valet parking is definately a conveniet option for guests that will be driving during their visit. I do hope that on your next visit you will have time to enjoy the pool and the fitness center.

Thank you again for your time and for your review of our property.

The Hampton Inn near Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a very pleasant and friendly place to stay. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful - something that is very important to me. I had previously stayed at the high-end hotel associated with this hotel group and was extremely disappointed in the manner in which I was treated. These people could learn a lot by observing how professional and friendly the Hampton Inn staff is! In-room amenities were also superior. I would definitely pick the Hampton Inn first when I return to Baltimore.

As another reviewer pointed out, this is a regular Hampton. The location is great. Very close to Inner Harbor and all of the Charm City Circulator lines. A reasonable walk to Federal Hill. The staff I saw was friendly, breakfast was fine, room was reasonable size for a city. There is a small pool and fitness center in the basement--one treadmill, one elliptical, and a couple of other things. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, which was the only negative.

If I were in the area for a few nights, I would stay here again.

Dear ncprof,

Please do stay with us again and reach out to me directly for your reservation!

As part of the Hilton family of hotels and Hampton chain, we are very proud of our Hampton Inn and Suites. Built in the historic US F&G Building, a Baltimore cornerstone since 1906, we are just 2 1/2 blocks from the Inner Harbor.

The team works hard to provide attentive and friendly service; we appreciate your kind words.

We look forward to having you back.

Great location for baseball, football games and to walk around the inner harbor area. The lobby and breakfast area is very nice and the front desk service was friendly and efficient. The rooms are normal Hampton rooms so no complaints. The only negative is the fitness facility which is too small for a hotel of this size and there appears to be plenty of space on the LL to expand. One each of elliptical, treadmill, bike and weight machine, however the room was no more than 12x12 which is very tight. Additionally, it had a odor like cat litter. Overall, the hotel was fine and if in Baltimore again I would consider this hotel.

The hotel had a real nice lobby and the staff was very friendly but the beds were terrible to sleep on and the rooms and halls could use updating. All in all a good stay for the price. We were two blocks from Baltimore inner harbor so it's a great location if you are coming with your family because you are within walking distance from the Aquarium and all the restaraunts
