Spent two nights there associated with reunion at Johns Hopkins U, ten minutes up Chareles Street. Indigo is not close to the Harbor but a block from the Walters Art Museum and Peabody Institute. We had stayed there five years ago when it wasn the Mount Vernon Hotel. Completely redone.

Small but clean and modern room. Everything worked. Excellent breakfast. Good value. Will stay again.

The hotel is well done and bright with decent sized rooms, but we paid extra for a corner king so we would not feel too crowded. Bathrooms are too small and cramped, as others have written. There is no room safe or luggage carrier, other than a bench that can be used for one. Two people in a room will tend to need two places to hold luggage, so actual carriers should at least be offered. Our view was very nice in one direction and the Walters Art Museum - Mt Vernon area is one of the best historic areas in Charm City. I read that soundproofing between rooms is inadequate, too but it kindly. My daughter learned this the hard way on her first night (she was on a different floor) when the noises from the next room woke her up. There was either a movie being filmed or a couple deeply in love next door. On the other hand, when there was a room service error, it was quickly corrected with follow up by management that seemed sincerely sorry about the error. I am not sure what can be done about soundproofing, but these other issues are correctable.

Those booking this property in April where offered free parking as an inducement. Suffice it to say, there were so many qualifications and loopholes in this offer that it would be fair to say it was illusory, but its terms were so confusing, I am still not sure what package received the bundled parking and which did not. Reserving a room should not require the thought needed to breakdown accessory bundles when you are buying a car.

The true rating of this hotel is three and one-half stars, but that option is not offered. Correction of a few errors will get this property to the four stars I gave it.

Fifth floor suite with a great view. Room was very quiet and comfortable. Rooms come in all sizes though so try to get a suite. I got a great rate through Hotwire. One strange inconvenience, no towel racks.

Room tip: Get an upper floor suite if possible.

Our room was large, with a microwave, sink and coffeemaker in a living room and a short hall with a desk to the bed/bath rooms. Good lighting, comfortable furniture.

No safe in the room. Seriously?

We ordered breakfast through room service...they ran out of bacon, delivered scrambled eggs for both orders, though we had ordered fried in both. Coffee served in a mug with plastic wrap. When we called, they DID bring up replacement eggs within about 15 min.

The person at the front desk did not seem particularly happy to be there and was a bit abrupt.

This hotel was great in every way. The customer service at the front desk was excellent. The staff at the restaurant/bar was great too. Had a great glass of proseco Saturday night followed by a delicious and reasonably priced breakfast Sunday morning. The room was spacious, well laid out and quiet too. We walked to a great nearby brewery and Mount Vernon in general is a lovely place to stay. Covered parking is across the street and was only $5.00/day-can't beat that! I love the city of Baltimore and would definitely stay at the Hotel Indigo again.
My only complaint was the wifi was pretty slow.

Room tip: We stayed on the 5th floor away from the elevators. No view to speak of, but it was so nice and quiet I didn't care.
