Enjoyed walking in this leafy pleasant old neighborhood. The architecture was fascinating, the modest gardens of the homes interesting, the genteel restoration of the neighborhood is rewarding to see.

I live in Baltimore and spend lots of time in Mount Vernon. I meet friends for coffee, drinks, or dinner, or simply walk around the neighborhood on a nice day. Street parking is available, but can be hard to find in the evening. Beautiful architecture, green areas, and nice cafes. Highly recommend!

This is a lovely and historic area that is certainly a great spot for a walking tour. At times, it can seem pretty vacant without a lot of activity but the architecture makes it worthwhile.

I only got to see a bit of this area but will go back at a later date. The area is so full of beautiful buildings with stories of their own. I got inside the library for only a few moments. There was a wedding going on. This building is massive. While walking in the area I spotted a building with a plaque where Edgar Allen Poe probably got the recognition that started his fame. There are interesting statues in the area and of course the Washington Mount Vernon Monument. There are buildings with balcony iron work like in New Orleans. The cobble stone street adds to the charm.
