“Nice hotel but a bit overpriced”
Reviewed August 4, 2009

We stayed at the Courtyard for 3 nights - here for a Red Sox v. Baltimore Orioles weekend. The hotel itself was nice, the rooms clean, good bedding and nice TV, but a bit overpriced at $199/night plus tax PLUS $22/day for parking. The least they could do is throw in the parking fee! Of course, it was during the summer and all the hotels fill up when the Red Sox are in town so they can charge those prices. They offer a buffet breakfast service until 9:30 weekdays and 11:00 weekends. It was decent for the $10.95 price tag as you could get freshly made waffles and omlets along with bacon, eggs, sausage, homefries, fruit, cold cereals, oatmeal, etc. However, you would think they would have stocked up knowing the Red Sox were in town and they would be busy...by Sunday they had run out of pastries and some fruits and by Monday they ran out of butter and regular milk. There is a Starbucks around the corner as well as a Whole Foods store, so you could go out for breakfast but this was convenient. There was a bar area, which we only saw someone in once and a pool which we did not have time to use so I can't say how it was. The inner harbor is at least a mile walk and Camden Yards a bit farther so if you have any problems walking, this is not the place for you. Of course you can wait for the water taxi, but the lines were always extremely long. We were close to Little Italy and had a great meal there. We were also close to Fells Point and we ate at Shuckers which is good for seafood and beer. All in all, we would probably stay here again unless we could get a better deal closer to the ballpark as the price tag was a bit high for this hotel.

My husband and I planned a trip to the Inner Harbor for the July 4th holiday weekend. We were pleased with the courtyard Mariott. It was a great location, quiet, safe, easy to park and enter/exit. Would stay there again for sure. Room was clean and I recommend the view from the 14th floor, harborview. Great shops nearby; close to fells point and little italy, too. Truly just what we hoped for.

I don't think you'd do better for price and location. A good sized room with free wireless internet and nice staff. The location is near the Inner Harbor which is the main bit for shopping and tourist attractions. Do check out the Visionary Arts Museum which is nearby.

We were originally going to stay here for 3 nights after a cruise. Arrived before noon and were given an accessible room with 2 beds as requested. All the accessible rooms connect and of course there were loud people in the room next to us..as well as all around us.

As a Platinum Marriott member I got nothing...no upgrade, nada! And come to find out I should have gotten discount coupons for the restaurant.

The rooms are pretty basic courtyard rooms...on the ugly side without much atmosphere. I have stayed in better Courtyards!

Most of the stadd was nice if a little clueless. One supervisor was rather short with many guests....somewhat unprofessional in his demeanor.

The hotel is located near a CVS, Whole Foods and lots of restaurants. The mexican place around the corner was very good but hte burger place next door was lousy. It's about a 20 minute walk over to the fun stuff in Inner Harbor. There is plenty to occupy people in the Harbor East area though.

All in all, I will most likely not return. We moved to the Renaissance where I am at least in the middle of things, in a nice room with a view. I will review this property after checkout.

Parking at the CY is 22 dollars a day-we did not have a car to park though luckily. I used a reward from Marriott to pay for the room and as I changed my reservation, the desk clerk had to call the hotline to find out how to handle my certificate. (She originally said that there was no one at Marriott Rewards on a Saturday to help which I knew was not the case.)

The hotel isn't that bad and can be a good value. The location is fine, but we were disappointed in the overall experience and will not stay there again. The rooms need updating. They do have a flat screen TV and decent selection of channels though! Didn't eat breakfast in the hotel so I am not sure if it is any good.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. I got a deal on the price through my work other wise I might not have stayed here as the price is usually over $200 a night. The staff was very nice and helpfull, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It is just a few blocks from Fell's Point and all the resaurants in Little Italy.

We liked the location-- close to Fells Point and Inner Harbor. We used the pool and jacuzzi and found them to be clean and quiet. The only downside was when our neighbors arrived back at 2 in the morning, we could hear their entire conversation through the walls.
