“Your average Marriott hotel, no surprises”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

It's your ordinary Marriott (maybe a little bit worse). We stayed here with a few other friends so we saw 3 different rooms. They all looked the same - the furniture was old and although they were clean, the worn out furniture and carpeting made the room look less clean. The bedding/interior didn't look half as nice as the "professional" photos posted on tripadvisor. Perhaps those are the nicer rooms. We all got the standard twin rooms. In the bathroom, there was one of those pale yellow soaps that I hadn't seen in ages. It made me feel like I was back in the 80's. A lot of the Marriotts have nicer toiletries so that was a bit worse than the average Marriott.

The service was good, we had no problems with check-in. We asked for extra toiletries and they came up pretty fast. After we checked-out, we asked the bellboy for a taxi and it didn't come for 10 minutes. At that point, they offered their hotel car to take us to the Amtrak station for a similar rate to a taxi, which was well appreciated because we would have missed our train otherwise.

There was a Starbucks inside the hotel.

I may try one of the boutique hotels next time, but if you're not going to spend a whole lot of time in the hotel room, this is probably not a bad choice.

To keep this short and sweet:

The first waterfront room we were given had dead bugs on the ceiling and live ones in the bathroom.
The second room we were given the air conditioner didn't work (83 degrees in the room), lamp shade was broken, terrible waterfront view, and mold in the shower.
They had no other rooms available.

The food was good, location was great and service was okay but it was a VERY uncomfortable stay. This gave me a very poor view of Marriott as a whole.

Room Tip: Don't waste your money on the waterfront unless you are above floor 9.

This is located in Harbor East near the fells point neighorhood. A few blocks from the Blue Moon Cafe aka best breakfast in Baltimore and across the street from Flemings, Mcormick and Smicks and ruths cris. The only Marriott property that actually overlooks the water. This area is less crowded than Harbor place at the inner harbor but is only a ten minute walk . Good view of fireworks from Four Seasons parking lot next door. Thw services was nice. The manager on duty was very attentive. Room couldve been updated a little. But typical marriott. Clean functional and great service.

I accompanied my husband, who attended a business conference at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. The location of this hotel can't be beat; our room had a lovely view of the harbor and was on a water taxi stop. The conference rate for the room included internet access. The other Marriott in the area, the nearby Marriott Inner Harbor, is also within walking distance of the Inner Harbor. Parking is very expensive, especially valet; taxi rides to and from the BWI airport is considerably cheaper than three nights of valet parking.

Our room was located next to a service room that was quite noisy from time to time (morning and evening)--perhaps a compressor or pump--not usually audible in the middle of the night. We thought about asking to change rooms, but our stuff was already unpacked when we heard it more than once. Rooms were not well soundproofed; on Saturday night the occupants of the room next door woke us up at about bar closing time. One of the five nights we were there, our room did not get made up.

The attractions of the inner harbor, visitor center, restaurants, shops, Science Museum, aquarium, Visionary Art Museum, are close either by walking or water taxi. I found of plenty of things to do nearby while my husband was in meetings. Conference rooms were clean and meals provided to the conference participants were good.

The receipt provided to my husband split the room rate between us even though the charge would have been the same if he were the only occupant. They said they could not list the entire room rate each day as a single item! I do hope that the charge split doesn't disallow business expense for half the room charge.

Our room was handicapped accessible, with a roll in shower. The rest of the hotel that I used was handicapped accessible.

Room Tip: Our odd numbered room had a harbor view.

We had a very enjoyable time at the Marriott Waterfront. The front desk was very helpful and check in was very quick, We were given the option of a city view room or a handicapped accessible room with a partial view of the city and the harbor. We chose the handicapped accessible room and the view was spectacular. We had a full view of the harbor and the skyline was magnificent. The room was clean and spacious and well equipped with towels and pillows. We were on the 18 the floor so sounds were not an issue. We also dined in the 700 Grill room and the meal was good. Will definitely be coming back again when we come to town to see the Yankees and Orioles. The price we paid for the room was reasonable.

Room Tip: WE were on the 18th floor and thought the view was magnificent

Booked through Priceline name your own price and got a steal! Very nice and clean rooms. Great view of the harbor. Only indoor pool which is small and swarming with kids... Normally I wouldn't care but when your room overlooks the gorgeous outside infinite pool of the Four Seasons u get alittle jealous. Also we saw a naked man doing push ups from his four seasons room. Make sure u close your curtains haha. Parking was expensive. Staff were nice and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was fine but be aware that they charge forInternet which I think is outrageous in this day and age. The food, in the bar, the restaurant and the dinner we attended was absolutely terrible - barely edible. If you must stay here, eat elsewhere. There are plenty of decent restaurants in the area.
