After scouring reviews on the internet, we settled on Thames Street to have dinner on June 16th. We liked the looks of the menu and the remarks by the chef.
If you go, please do not be off-put by the front door and bar area. We almost turned on our heels and left. Crowded, loud and simply no room to even stand, we ended up outside near a stair well. The regular dining area upstairs, however, is much nicer, less crowded and much less noisy.
I must say the food was rather bland. I had the swordfish feature, which came with a bland sauce topped with tasteless cherry tomatoes, and no additional veg or starch. It was really missing a lot. Beautifully prepared, but it just fell on its face for lack of flavor and a need for some type of garnish. My husband had the Arctic char, which was nicely fleshed out with pork seasoning and some gnocchi. He said it was much better than mine, but he wouldn't drive to Baltimore to eat it again.
It was Sailabration weekend, so Fells Point was crowded, so perhaps the kitchen was stressed. However, we will chose somewhere else next time and keep an eye on other reviews before we come back.
