First visit to Baltimore, picked this as first seafood... Will be tough to beat. While Servie was not perfect, it was better than several others we tried. Great food inc the seafood royale was awesome.. the lobster mac n cheese had jalapenos added, so the kids did not like it bit I ate it also. Great atmosphere. Would go back.

The restaurant has a sour beer smell to it. The odor hits you as soon as you walk through the door. We had the coconut Thai mussels. Not sure why they needed to put so much sugar in the broth. The sweetness over powered the flavor. The bread was sweet too. I think the chef has a love affair with sugar. This place was just okay. I wouldn't go out of the way. I hear Mama's on a half shell is much better.

if you are not a mussels lover there are other things on the menu, but this is just a fabulous place for mussels!!!!!!!!! i love coming here. its small and cozy. my hubby and i usually get 2 orders of mussels and share an escargot salad and enjoy a few beers. beer selection is decent but nothing special if you are a hop head/craft brew lover like myself. there are always mussel specials of the day, which basically means they came up with some different dipping sauces. i love the ones that come with capers, butter and garlic. they mussels are fat and plump and you get a ton with your order. never fishy tasting, gristly or sandy. have been here many times and service is always very friendly and attentive. great in town location and its just a great spot for a quick bite or just leisurely hanging out. highly recommend.

You don't get much more Bawlmer-ish than Bertha's. Loved, loved, loved the classic Bertha's mussels with a variety of dipping sauces! Several people in our group had never had mussels before and seemed to enjoy the new experience. Everyone's food was good and the service was relaxed, informal and just right. Prices were great, too.

A great neighborhood pub offering mussels a dozen different ways. The classic version of white wine, butter and garlic is my favorite, and if you don't see it on the menu, just ask! Plenty of bread for sopping, and a great bottle of wine - what more do you need?
