“Little Italy & Jonestown food tour, Baltimore, MD”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2014

Our family of 7 did this tour over Christmas break, on a sunny, crisp winter day. Our guide, David Kinder, was personable & outstanding!!! In addition to making 4 restaurant stops, David gave us an interesting historic tour of Jonestown & Little Italy ~ this was much more than a food tour, and a great way to learn about & see an area of Baltimore. We had a terrific afternoon/evening!!! We sampled A LOT of food, all very, very good, but my personal favorites were excellent: the corned beed sandwich at Attman's Deli, and the homemade pasta dish & tiramasu at Piedigrotta Bakery. Whether you are from the Baltimore area, or visiting the Charm City from out of town, I highly recommend this food tour ~ learn some history, see a part of the city & eat delicious food!

“Awesome....with plenty of food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

I guess some might consider us to be "food tour" pros since we typically find one whenever we travel. I will have to say that this one was a step above. The amount of food was more than other tours that we have participated in. The variety included the typical Baltimore fare (Crab soup and Old Bay on everything), BBQ, European, Mexican, and a decadent dessert. Nora was very knowledgeable about the Fell's Point area and history. She allowed us to enjoy the tour at a more relaxed pace than some of our other experiences. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Baltimore area or natives who just want a fun way to try something new.

“Team Building with Charm City Food Tours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

We took a few team members from work for our work retreat. We had a great time! Our tour guide Nora was knowledgeable about Fells Point and the restaurants we visited that day! Our team truly enjoyed learning more about Fells Point, food, and each other. It was a great way to build moral and get out of the office. I would highly suggest this to anyone!

“Great way to tour Fells Pt.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014

We went on the food tour of Fells Pt. and tasted 4 different dishes plus a dessert. While travelling between restaurants, we were given history of the area. Our tour guide Nora was superb. We enjoyed this very unique way of touring.

“Fall in Love with Little Italy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2014

I got my husband the Jonestown/Little Italy food tour for Christmas, but we just went this past weekend. We had a wonderful time! Our guide, Ambi, was incredibly nice and knowledgeable, the food was great, and all the people we met were friendly and welcoming. While the tour is changed periodically, our tour started with a stop at a delicatessan on "Corned Beef Row" to sample their most popular items, including the best corned beef I've ever eaten in my life. We then went to a beautiful neighborhood cafe for soup and antipasta. That was followed by a stop at one of the two oldest neighborhood restaurants for meatballs and its famous house salad. We ended the day at a cafe/bakery where we sampled pasta and an amazing tiramisu. By the end of the tour we were pleasantly stuffed and had fallen in love with Little Italy.

While the food was great, the real gem of the tour was our guide Ambi. Her love of Baltimore and Little Italy is genuine and infectious. She peppered the tour with rich historical information on the city and the neighborhood and included stops at many of the neighborhood's significant sites. Her knowledge of the neighborood and the families who have made it great was really impressive. She contributed so much depth to the experience that it took the tour to a whole new level. She was also a lot of  fun!

One thing to note about this tour is that it isn't designed to include much interaction with food purveyors and/or the folks in the kitchen, which is probably fine for many people. As a hard-core foodie, though, I would have appreciated a more in-depth food focus.

One tip -- we met at the corner of East Lombard and South Exeter. The tour length exceeds most of the meter times in the area, however there are some streets that are unmetered where you can park for an unlimited amount of time. Drive around a bit before using the parking garage option...We found free parking within two blocks of the meeting location.
