“Enjoyed the Flights!”
Reviewed November 15, 2010

We went here with another couple on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. There was plenty of seating; in fact, it didn't start to get crowded until maybe 8pm. Nice, smart atmosphere with wine bottles covering an entire wall. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the draft beers (the men ordered the beer flights) as well as the food. I had the champagne flight which was a lot of fun! The food was fine, nothing incredible. We ordered a cheese plate and 2 snack items per person, which made for a light dinner. Unfortunately, we felt a little rushed to leave once we had paid our bill. Three of us still had wine/beer left, so we stayed until everyone was finished. For the four of us, the bill was about $150 before tip - not something we can do every weekend, but fun for once in a while.

“AWESOME!!”
Reviewed July 6, 2010

This place was not what I expected to get from the area it is located in! Wine selection is great and the atmosphere was crowded - but not too crowded - and fun! I would suggest the cheese plate (they can pick you some really great ones that you've never had before) and/or the bread and dip app (I don't know if it had a specific name). And a bonus - they are on restaurant.com so you can use a promo coupon as well!

“Great food, Value and Service!”
Reviewed February 25, 2010

Three of us ordered a bread and cheese appetizer and got much more than expected! The bread was accompanied by olive oil and balsamic vinegar that was sweet and tasty. We then ordered three entrees that we shared - All three were unique and served with a great presentation and priced very reasonably! The wine wall offered a good selection and the server was knowledgeable of each choice.

“Great Beer Specials at Impressive New Wine Bar”
Reviewed February 16, 2010

We live in Hampden and have been looking at 13.5% since it opened soon after HonFest in June. We walked past it often and saw how sleek and trendy it looked in Hampden, which is known for it's kitchy indy arts in an old working class neighborhood turned awesome (editor's bias, of course). 13.5% was not what we're used to seeing around here but it fits quite well and is always bustling.

We're not wine drinkers so I can't comment on the wine but I rarely see anyone look disappointed when I'm there.
There really seems to be a jovial happiness within the walls which is a warmly welcomed atmosphere in these times.
The space itself uses much modern urban decor with old exposed brick walls to remind us again where we are because sometimes if you're lucky you can escape Baltimore for a few. This place has had some of those moments for us.

We always sit at the bar so that is where my reference comes from. The bar is long with a large gathering spot at the end with table and sofas for group of 10 or so and is almost always to capacity.

We were greeted very well by our bartenders and were even happier to find tat it was 1/2 price draft night. Gulden Draak on tap? Don't mind id I do.

We were also asking the bartender about their draft wine area. I've never seen this before but they have wine bottles hooked up to electronic nitrogen packed pouring system. Mind boggling for the gadget geeks (you know who you are, this contraption is cool).

If you can catch their specials they are really quite generous with selections and their food is quite good. Paninis with the freshest and smartest flavors.

“Friendly Baltimore Bar, Decent Wine List”
Reviewed January 9, 2010

A fun place to go with friends and lounge. Huge picture windows look out onto Hampden's main street. The drink selection is very good. We went on an off night and asked for cocktails that the host had never made. They weren't very good but he tried very hard to get everything just right — even looked up cocktail recipes on the internet. A+ for effort and atmosphere.
