I had a one-day work-related trip to Hopkins for which I chose this hotel due to the proximity and "bargain". The availability of shuttles (within 1 mile radius) figured into my decision to save on transportation and the need to avoid the local area that is known to be dangerous on foot. Unfortunately, none of that actuated. I called the hotel from the airport at 5:30pm saying that I will need the shuttle at the Convention Center light rail stop which is 5 minutes from the hotel -- the front desk clerk informed me, quite rudely, that the earliest possible would be 7:30, TWO HOURS after the call. When asked why the delay, he states that there are several guests before me, but TWO HOURS!? For a one mile radius? So I had to take a cab. On checking in, I told them I needed a RELIABLE shuttle to Hopkins Hospital the following morning at 7am for an interview and was reassured that the shuttled would be there. Come morning, I was told that the driver was "running late" and would expect 7:30, which was the time of my interview. Again, I had to take a cab, which had to be called because you would NOT want to stand on the sidewalk to hail the cab -- people have been mugged in that neighborhood in broad day light. Lastly, the hotel is next to highway 83, which is quite noisy throughout the night. In short, my reasons for staying here to be near the Hopkins Hospital with the convenience of shuttles did not materialize and I wasted much money/time/energy on cabs when I could have paid a similar rate to be in a much nice area that would have been equally accessible by cabs. The hotel falsely advertises on services it does not have. So don't make the mistake I made --- STAY ELSEWHERE.
