Park in lot on west Baltimore across from the arena building bus stop. It's $14.00 24 hr parking. Just one large block away.
Laid back staff, elegant building and room, trendy but relaxed. Super quiet, high ceilings. Very nice bar/restaurant steps to inner harbor and a 8 buck max taxi to fells point. Comp. wine at 5 daily

I have to admit that I am partial to Kimpton hotels. This is the second one I have stayed at, the other being in San Francisco. The rooms are spacious and included a sitting area, beautiful decorations (wallpaper, pictures, carpeting, etc.), and attention paid to every detail. The hotel is located in an old historic building, which adds to the experience. It is located within walking distance of all inner harbor attractions including the National Aquarium, restaurants, etc.

The valet parking seemed a bit pricey at $38, but the hotel rents an entire floor of a nearby garage which gives you peace of mind when leaving your car there. Most other garages would have charged about $24 for the overnight fee and an early bird ticket for the next morning. We arrived late and decided to see some of the attractions the following morning before getting back on the road. We did not have to pay for an additional day for the valet and were able to check our bags in at the front desk while we toured around and picked up our car that afternoon. In the end I think it was worth it, given the fact that security of the vehicle is also important to us.

It is a higher end hotel, so if you are travelling on a budget be sure to avoid the mini bar (the prices were quite high) and check for specials on the internet, where you can get a great value for the money (we found a room for $149, which is a great value for the location and accomodation).

We chose this hotel because we got a special rate deal which was good. The building was historic being the B&O railway head office. It was very Monolithic and solid but somehow soul-less. the huge ground floor had the bar and restaurant off each side but we had to go up one floor to the lobby to check in. there was a free glass of wine from 5pm till 6pm and good strong French coffee all day. the staff were very courteous and helpful as were the valet parking guys.
the room and bed were very comfortable but the bathroom door had a sliding door with a heavy mirror attached and the door had come off the slider so could not be closed. The bathroom had a lot of marble and tiles and was very nice.
We were just 3 blocks away from the inner harbor and walked down there in the evening. There were quite a lot of homeless people on the way and a couple of them asked for money. They were polite and did not feel intimidating. It is sad that there are so many homeless around.
The inner harbor was excellent and we took the Trolley tour which gave us a good insight into the history of Baltimore. Very interesting. We would probably stay here again.

Stayed at this property for a couple of nights whilst visiting colleges. We stayed in a double double room with an additional room that had bunk beds so 6 of us slept comfortably. The only drawback was the fact that the room looked onto a brick wall. Beautiful old hotel that has been renovated in good taste. You can walk everywhere. Although Baltimore is not my favorite city, staying at the Kimpton helped make it a better experience.

I gues is the old Reading building of Reading Railway fame. As a Monopoly fan, I was impressed. The lobby is on the second floor, which was quirky but, the lobby itself when you get there is really impressive. The room was really odd, it had a stubby kind of second room with no furniture in it which was unusual. They should use that space. The bed was great and the bathroom was sleek, clean, and cool. Check out was smooth. The restaurant is so-so. Great service but the food is nothing to write home about.

My wife and I needed to be in Baltimore for a quick overnight and selected the Monaco based on reviews. The staff were very nice and helpful, particularly the staff at the check-in counter. We arrived early and they suggested some places to wander while we waited on a room to become ready. They called about an hour later to let me know our room was ready and gave us a nice, extremely spacious corner room. The beds were comfortable and the went out of there way to make a nice evening for us - including bringing a free bottle of champagne, some fruit and popcorn to our room.

Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I can easily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Baltimore and wishing to stay in downtown.

We stayed in the hotel overnight on our way south. It's a beautiful building, our room seemed recently renovated -- very cosy, with a comfortable bed. The only downside was the A/C noise, I'd expect it to be less intrusive in this kind of accommodation.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

If you stay longer than us, you'll probably enjoy the fact that the hotel is within the walking distance from the city's Inner Harbour. There's a coffee shop right across the Charles St. for your morning fix, Caribou Coffee -- they open early and the brew is quite good.

This is one of the few hotels in and around Baltimore that let you stay with your dog, and they don't even charge extra for that, so it compares well with other hotel options that may be cheaper but would charge you $40 to $70 on top of the room rate for the dog. And, if you are travelling with a dog, there is a small dog park one block west from the hotel, at the corner of Fayette and Liberty where you can let your pooch off the leash.
