Owner description: Be prepared for the unusual and imaginative at this museum housing works by non-mainstream artists, including the "whirligig", a 55-foot wind-powered sculpture, a 10-foot model of the Lusitania made entirely out of match sticks and a mobile that spans three floors.

This museum focuses on amateur artists. It's really a celebration of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. And it's awesome. Where else can you find a matchstick 3-D replica of the Titanic, or robots crafted from 1960s era electronics?

The museum takes itself seriously: exhibits and galleries are are designed as smartly as they are in the Smithsonian or the Guggenheim.

It's quirky, fun and crazy. Go, if you happen to be in Baltimore. Kids love it; it's a great way to get them into museum hopping. You'll fall in love with it. And the cafe is a first rate place for lunch, too.

It's a hidden gem.

Visionary art (contemporary folk art) is a lot of fun and very accessible. A big compound of buildings are fun to explore. See the whirligig display near the Kinetic Sculpture Race 'floats' and the outdoor 'treehouse'. Always a good time for folks of all ages- and one of the best gift shops in town. From fun toys, to quirky decor, original art, great books and unique gifts.

Went here for a wedding which included free access to the museum, a lot of what was in there is questionable at best but there were also some quality pieces that make you think and the design of the building is great

We liked everything. This is not your mothers museum. It is unique and very interesting. Mr. Rains Fun House is a great restaurant located at the top.

Very unusual art but well displayed and interesting. Spread across several buildings in a nice setting nearby the waterfront.
