“Fascinating Look at Alternative Artists”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

This is my favorite art museum of all times. You have to go each time they change an exhibit. It is a whimsical look into the creative mind. Artists from every walk of life that create with everything imaginable. The art is accompanied with a fascinating bio piece on the artist so you get the art and a slice of life.

“A Pleasant Surprise”
Reviewed January 20, 2012

What captivating and unusual artwork. While $15.95 seemed a little steep for admission since there were 3 of us, it was worth it. So much to see. We ended up getting a family membership and they put the cost of our admission toward the membership. A great place to take out of town visitors. It is located beside the inner harbor which is a fun place to visit.

“A real treat”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

This Museum is like no other - full of pure creativity = the works are full of energy and emotion. Most of the artists names will be unfamiliar yet the essence of who they are is so amazingly present in their work. Definitely a unique experience. And do check out the fun gift shop.

“Sometimes "Different" is "Better"”
Reviewed January 14, 2012

This is a one-of-a-kind experience visitors to Baltimore should not miss. The impressive building itself is worth the trip, as is the Gift Shop with its beautiful, fun, unusual - sometimes hysterical - offerings at very reasonable prices. Great place to Xmas shop if you're here for the holidays. Exhibits of "outsider" (aka not formally trained) artists vary. Some are breathtaking, some strange and unsettling, but all thought-provoking and fascinating. I live in Baltimore and am always anxiously awaiting October when the new show goes up, because by then I've seen the current one so many times! You can see ballparks and historic sites in every state you visit -- but you'll only find a museum like this in Bmore!
