The basilica is partially closed for eathquake dqmage repair, but we still had a wonderful visit and delightfull tour, lesning a tremendous amount about the facliity, the features underground, and the history of the catholic church in North America.

This is a marvel of Greek revival architecture. Benjamin Latrobe who designed our Nation's Capital in DC did this. It was recently renovated to best represent the original concept. Across the street is the Enoch Pratt Library. Many good restaurants are nearby on Charles Street.

Went in during service, so we stayed around until it was over, then took a self-guided tour of the cathedral and crypts. Very creepy, but gorgeous and peaceful. Would visit again and again.

We were referred here by some business associates and are glad we got the tour. It was wonderful and the shrine is very unique.
