“A good place to think”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2013

It is a square, that's all. There are some sculptures and train rails, which have some meaning in the way they are positioned, of course. It is a nice place to spend 30 minutes, 45 top? I enjoyed going to this place.

“Glad it is there to remind us of what happened.”

The only negative is there is no parking there to see it. You must park elsewhere and walk to it. Regardless, it is a good reminder of not reliving the past!

“Needs some TLC”

The sculpture at the entrance is riveting - the tiny pond surrounding the sculpture needs maintenance - the memorial depicts one scene that tells the visitor much about the horrors visited upon the Jewish people during the nazi period.

“Unexpected find by the harbor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

I just happened to walk by the memorial on the way back to my hotel. The memorial is located on a corner street and is of a simple, humble design. There is a sculpture on one end, followed by an open area with rows that resembled rows of barracks found in a concentration camp. At the end of the memorial sits a wall with different inscriptions on it.

While the memorial might not be as big or well known as others, it still provides an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the Holocaust and how it happened. It is not designed to provide a history of the Holocaust, so don't expect a history lesson. If you are in the inner harbor area, it would be worth it to make a diversion to see the memorial. It's too bad it wasn't better well marked in order for more people to know about it.
