“Nice hotel, friendly, helpful staff”
Reviewed April 22, 2011

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to Baltimore Harbor (only a few blocks away-walking distance). Although there is no onstreet parking, the parking garage was on the next block and very secure. The hotel is a beautiful historic building, our room was small but very updated in style and clean. The staff (notably Raymond), but all of them were very friendly and helpful to first-time visitors to their city. Would recommend staying here and we certainly will again on our next trip to the harbor.

We needed a safe, clean place to stay for our spring break trip. This hotel isn't the Hilton however it doesn't cost that much either. It is a great value plus it's close to so many things. If you are traving to see the inner harbor, Orioles game, Raven's game, or the aquarium, this is the perfect place to stay. Plenty of food places close by and their free breakfast was very satisfying. We will definitely stay here again. Front desk staff was very friendly and informative. Thanks for a great stay!!

Upon arrival the hotel was hard to find the sign is not easy to see and we passed it a few times. Upon checkin there was a woman who looked sick laying on the couch in the lobby sleeping and the man behind the desk was rude and obnoxious he kept complaining about management. He was not helpful with the location of parking and I had to find it on my own.
1 adult and 2 teenagers in a double bedroom and it was a tight fit, the bathroom was large because we were in a handicap accesible room but overall it was small.
The lobby has a smell that we could not explain but it was not pleasant. I felt as though the hallways and basement area where the meeting rooms and gym is located is old even though the rooms are more updated.
On Sunday the 24 hour gym was located at 11am until 2pm due to luggage storage with no prior notice.
Breakfast was fresh fruit, cereal, donuts, bread, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee.
We were in town for an event at the convention center and between parking at the hotel and the convention center for a Sat - Mon stay I spent about $52 in parking. Parking at 210 St Paul was $15 for 11 hours, and $7.75 on Fayatte if you park after 4pm and out by 9am. The convention center is walkable but not reccommended there were people hanging outside the hotel all hours of the day and/or night. There is a deli market next to the hotel that has sandwiches, drinks, chips etc.

Room Tip: AAA to get a lower rate - confim room by phone

I stayed in Quality Inn from March 15 - March 18. I was on the business trip. The hotel is small but good for short stay. It's on the road so is little noisy and restaurants around the hotel can make the life easier for business travellers. The Inner harbor is quite near and at a walking distance. The breakfast served in the morning is filling and good.

Regards
Vishal

You can't beat the price. With AAA, one night was less than $70. Only a few blocks from Inner Harbour or Mount Vernon, located in a nice area. The room was Very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. If you are on a budget and do not plan to spend much time in the room, it is perfect. I would suggest that you ask for a room on an upper floor. We stayed on the second floor and between street traffic and other guests, it was very noisy. The air/heat was extremly loud each time it turned on. I eventually shut it off altogether. Maybe because the vent was right over the bed and the room was tiny. I had a 1 Queen bed room which comprised the bed and a bathroom, and a door - no space. The FREE breakfast very nice and again very clean, with eggs and sausage in addition to the regular stuff. If you just need a room to crash in and looking to save money, this would be a good choice. Try to get a higher floor though.

We decided to take an overnight trip to Baltimore and wanted to stay downtown for convenience of location. We drove to the hotel and parked in the lot recommended by the hotel (they do not have their own parking). Parking was $15/night, even though the hotel website said it was $13/night. We walked to the hotel to check in. The process took about 10 minutes because the desk clerk didn't seem to be familiar with the discounted, paid in advance, booking we had made. After getting our key cards, we went to the room. It was very small, which was not surprising for an old city hotel, and the room was very well appointed due to the recent renovation. Unfortunately, that was the only good thing about our stay. 1. Our key cards never worked again. 2. After being told the bar was open for happy hour, I went down to have a cocktail before dinner and discovered the bar tender had just "stepped away". When I asked a waitress to serve me, she said she was too sick to pour me a drink. This was during "happy hour." I went down the street to the Tremont and was treated like a king. 3. When we returned to our room after our evening out, we discovered the air conditioner was so loud that we could hardly sleep. Great location, but the staff needs to be brought up to a much higher standard of service.

I read all of the reviews for hotels within our price range when we travel, and try to judge from the middle of the pack whether or not it is a good fit for us. The lower ranking made me a little leary, but the photo of the exterior looked nice, and the location and price were good, so we gave it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and decor of the room. Fairly new renovations have given the rooms a modern look with a few "luxury" touches. The bedding and window coverings were nice quality. As noted by others, the room is small but serves its purpose and the bath is not too small and has a glass vessel sink in the main room. The little extras provided were nice, (shower cap, toothbrush and comb) in addition to the regulars. Free wi-fi in the room, plus a computer in a walled "business center" in the lobby. There was an iron and board. The toilet seat is the kind with no lid, so there is no place to set toiletries and if you place anything on the tank, it could fall in! The breakfast had a decent variety, and though it appeared hot, it was actually cold, we did not ask for assistance with that, so nothing bad to say about the staff. They were helpful when we asked, and offered suggestions for a few of our questions. We felt like we were maybe 1 block outside of the REALLY safest part of downtown, but that may have just been perception, as the street is well lit, and we were impressed with the Police presence throughout the downtown area. It was an easy walk to the Inner Harbor, and water taxis or buses took us everywhere we wanted to go, we didn't have to take our car out of the lot they recommended, (no in and out parking). Baltimore was a bit of a risk for us as a vaca destination, and it was a pleasant surprise, which includes the hotel.
