I was so disappointed in our recent visit. We arrived at 5:30, with reservations. They couldn't seat us, even though the place was nearly empty, so we went to the bar (which only had two people in it) for a drink. Well, they forgot about us. We had to remind them and by then we ended up just grabbing a table in the bar. Long story short-we were there for 2 hours and were never served our dinner. Our appetizers of oysters took over 30 minutes to arrive, and we had to ask several times for things we requested (drinks, bread, etc). We were going to a show at the Hippodrome so, after inquiring about the status of our meal twice, we had to leave or risk missing the show. When we told our waitress to cancel our food there was a half apology half "oh please try us again". No manager stopped over, no comped drinks-nothing. On top of that, the waitress knew we were in a hurry at that point and still took over 15 minutes to bring the bill and settle our tab-again with no complimentary drink or discount. I am completely appalled. A company with such great history of being one of the best ended up being a horrible experience. We never ate before the show and everything was closed by the time it was over, but what really blew my mind most was that the manager made no effort to come by and apologize, and there was no attempt to make the situation right. When a table arrives at 5:30pm, when your restaurant is near empty, is forgotten and not seated, and never gets served their dinner-you do something to make up for it. I can't say we'll be back anytime soon, which is disappointing because we like to take our business clients here when they're in town. Not anymore. On the plus side-the Chincoteague Oysters were amazing!
