“If you like Mediterranean food, you must come”

Fareed is the CFO (Chief Falafel Officer) of Baba's. It's a small restaurant on Fort Avenue in Federal Hill, a bit off the beaten path for tourists, perhaps. But for lovers of Mediterranean food, it's simply the best place in the city of Baltimore. The hummus is to die for, and whatever Fareed has on special MUST be tried. It's a BYOB place, and don't feel the bit least reluctant to bring a bottle of wine.

“Mediterranean secret in the heart of Baltimore”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2012

Baba's has a quaint homey feeling when you approach the restaurant after parking on the street, just follow the sounds of laughter and there is Baba's. The food is made deliciously and presentation can rival gourmet. It is tight inside, but worth the wait. We were lucky to sit at the counter and meet the owner and see them in action. My husband had the lamb kabob. I had the beef meal. We both cleaned our plates. Throw in some baba ghanoush with yummy bread. We didn't have any room for dessert. The food is incredible and everyone enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
There is seating outside and you can order out. They are open for lunch thru dinner. Amazing experience if you enjoy trying new things and excellent food. We will definitely go back to enjoy it again. Home cooked food at its best! If you want to impress someone, try Baba's kitchen.

“Very Nice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2012

We enjoyed our our visit to Baba! My daughter is "Gluten Free". The staff were very helpful with the ordering of the meal. My daughter got exactly what she wanted without any issues. We enjoyed the Lamb and Chicken Kabobs, Tabouleh Quinoa and the Chicken Noodle Soup. We enjoyed all of it, especially the soup. They are close to 95 so easy to get to the location. We will go back to try some of the other items. We were able to speak with the owner and really enjoyed that too! Worth the trip!

“VERY GOOD MEDITERRANEAN FOOD FOR REASONABLE PRICE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2012

visited this very small hole-in-the-wall corner restaurant just between Federal Hill and Locust Point on E. Fort Ave (if you blink driving by, you'll miss it). Excellent food for a very reasonable price - not a fancy place to take a date, but if you want a very intimate, diner-like atmosphere with home-cooked Mediterranean, then this is the place. easier to take out, as there are only a few tables. the home-made soup is the best - thick, tasty, hearty and almost a meal in-of-itself. i had the rosemary beef and was cooked just the way i liked it (they didn't ask, so i assume they will always cook it this way) - rare on the inside, flavorful with the herbs and melted in your mouth. get the plate, with the wonderful hummus, salad was good but dressing very tasty. price is average, but quality is excellent.

“venture out night with my Tspoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2011

We spent $36 and it was too much food... nice! Baba Ghanoush was a great appetizer and would get it again. The flavors were good. I had a rosemary flank steak that was excellent. My wife had the chicken kabob and liked it. We bought desert and they were good but small as well. This is a local.. market style place. Go here to feel city living and people watch. Sit outside with your BYB and watch the character of this part of Baltimore walk by. If you live in the burbs of Baltimore and want to feel the neighborhood life of the city do this! We will be back and would order the same but will try the other dishes. This place has good food but better people and vibe...
