I went here because of other tripadvisor reviews. We went after seeing a movie at the charles theatre. It's just down the road. The upstairs is a clean, simple restaurant with a good sized sushi bar and fresh sushi at reasonable prices. The only negatives were the alcohol prices ($7 for a regular size glass of wine).

Down stairs is a really cool looking bar. It's got classy dive bar feel but unlike your usual bar it smells REALLY GOOD. We are definately going back.

It was surprising how good an experience we had here. When an actual Japanese couple sits next table and the waitress speaks to you in Japanese then you know this must be authentic! And it was. Great food, great value, highly recommended!

The bulgogi is really good. Comes with a weird cabbage salad with thousand island dressing and miso soup. Is tasty, nonetheless. Sushi is good and fresh and service is relaxed but timely. You can stay as long as you want as long as you're eating, no rush. There's a bar downstairs.

Aloha is out go-to place when we want sushi but don't want to spend typical sushi prices. The resturaunt upstairs is usually where people go but we tend to hole up in the dark bar downstairs. It's like a sushi dive bar. At time of post they have $1 nigiri at the bar and they have some of the freshest tuna in town. And for $1 only a sushi fool passes it up. That's right, I said it. Sushi fool! The bar has a steady following as the bartender seems to know everyone who comes down. We were away for about a month one time and when we returned the bartender saw us and said "Where you been?!"
If there was sushi soul food or a sushi Cheers this would be the place.

The sushi at Aloha is very good. They have some interesting rolls, and all of the ones I had were excellent. I'd recommend trying the Maryland Roll if you get a chance. And the prices were decent too. $6 for regular rolls, and $10-13 for 8-piece special rolls. In other words, I didn't feel like I was ripped off. The service could've been better, but that's really my only complaint.
