“Baltimore Getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

My husband and I stayed at Pier 5 February 1, 2014 with a Groupon we purchased in October 2013. What a wonderful little hotel. We enjoyed our room which was lovely. We had a king room that overlooked the inner harbor. The check-in was a bit of a mix-up, as we were sent to a room that was already in use by another couple. Pier 5 was quite apologetic and quickly fixed the issue. The bed was comfortable, however; we found some difficulty regulating the temperature in our room. It ran on the warm side. Other than that, we had a splendid stay. Breakfast was delicious as well as the chocolate fondue fountain :-) We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

We visited the Baltimore Inner Harbor area from Philadelphia for my birthday weekend Jan.31 to Feb.2 as we have for years now. This is a very nice place. It's a bit boutique-ish and the deco is a bit 70-80's style. It's only three floors and in some ways rather quaint. The front desk at check-in was quite friendly but the gentleman that took care of my arrangements misled me a bit when I asked for a room with a great view and he assured me ours was a great view. It was not unless you didn't mind opening the blinds and looking hard to your left. Our room had a vaulted ceiling and everything was clean and fresh. We did not have a balcony (which the gentleman said I would have to give up one or the other between a great view and balcony. We got neither. This was disappointing.
For breakfast in the morning there is a $25 brunch for 2 offer which is brunch for both of us and a bottle of wine and a $25 gift certificate to use at Pier Five next time back. there was an omelette stand but beyond that the buffet was VERY limited.
Another great thing we loved about this place was the opportunity to unpack our own car and park our own car in the hotel's lot directly adjacent to the hotel. It was refreshing to not have to pay waves and layers of people to get our bags to our room. There is valet parking available($38 as opposed to $22 to park yourself) but it is totally unnecessary.
We were lucky to have beautiful weather all weekend long in the middle of what has been an absolutely brutal winter season.
Great job by Pier Five and we will certainly be back again when we can and when I can get another great deal some time. It's not cheap to stay here so keep your eyes open for a good deal on line. Great birthday celebration.

Room Tip: insist on looking at the chart when being assigned a room

My wife and I stayed at Pier 5 Hotel on 01-24 and 01-25-2014 due to a Groupon purchased in October 2013. This is the fifth time we have stayed at a Harbor Magic Hotel in the past two years. We love Pier 5 & Admiral Fell Inn due to it being "pet friendly"...even though we did not bring our Beagles this time. Again...an extremely pleasing weekend! Our room and other included amenities were great! The front desk staff and Kevin were absolutely amazing and very attentive to our daily needs. The breakfast staff and chef Jess were extremely impressive and have an elaborate spread daily, every morning, beginning at 0700. The chocolate and crabby hour event(s), hosted by Kevin, were free to guests and a great way to see him at work and get some fantastic treats & adult drinks in the process. Daily gyms passes to MAC Fitness, which is walking distance from the hotel, are also included and another great incentive to stay at this wonderful place. Kudos to Ted for running (3) incredible resort-like hotels/inn(s) in which every employee treats you like family! PLEASE, please keep the Living Social and Groupon deals coming! We want to come back again sooner than later…C&D from SS, MD

We purchased an internet package coupon and decided to use it on our anniversary weekend. Making the reservations was so easy. Checking in was a joy. Kevin and Juliet (at the front desk) couldn't have been more pleasant throughout the entire trip.

All of the service staff was great. The breakfast crew was great. And, special kudos to the "omelet maker." She put extra cheese on mine, just like I asked. That doesn't happen too often at places :-)

Juliet and Kevin recommended a great Italian restaurant that was part of our $50.00 certificate and it was lovely (La Scalia). Take advantage of the fitness center pass - MAC was spectacular!!! What a great workout!

I can't say enough about the hotel. Just lovely from top to bottom. We will return. Thanks for everything!

Such a delightful, smaller, high-quality hotel discovery when so many others in the area are either small and ordinary or large and impersonal. Pier 5 is neither. A direct neighbor of acclaimed National Aquarium, this is one comfortable and convenient place to stay. The staff were helpful (although I think management needs to arrange the front desk to have more access to petty cash, having run out of change of a five dollar bill at 2AM isn't what I'd call efficient. The breakfast branches out from the usual buffet of mostly high carbs by having an omelet station. They've got plenty of ways to entertain yourself on property and nearby although I wasn't able to do that with a lack of time. Well worth a repeat visit!

My wife and I stayed at Pier 5, on the Inner Harbor, in early December. We had gotten a special internet offer that included the room and a gift certificate to Ruth's Chris restaurant on the premises and a complimentary bottle of wine for the room. When we arrived, parking was available right outside the building, and, at check-in our room was upgraded to one with a balcony overlooking the harbor. The room was pristine, with very comfortable beds and ample space to relax.
The staff made the stay memorable. They answered all of our questions about area restaurants, sights, museums, etc. Each afternoon, one of the staff conducted cooking lessons and tastings, complete with wine or beer. He was very good.
The hotel has a shuttle that will take you to the Fells Point area. It also gave us a special service into Little Italy which is only several blocks away.
We were very impressed with this hotel and look forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room on the second level.
