“Run down....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

Pimlico's heyday was two generations ago, at least. It shows it's age, and is either gloomy and empty for much of the year, or overcrowded with drunks (on the infield) and the pretentious (in the grandstands) during Preakness.

“This is what I imagine Mogadishu, Somalia looks like”

If you enjoy watching horse races while wondering which direction the bullets are going to come from, this place is for you. My God, I have never seen such a disgusting array of impoverished, dangerous-looking drug-addicted miscreants. I have been all over Baltimore and I've never been in such fear of being robbed/murdered as when I was at Pimlico. If you value your life, stay far, far away.

“Keep the traditions alive !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2012

More than one word to speak out on this: The Black-Eyed Susan stakes in early May and THE PREAKNESS, the 2nd of three Triple Crown races, in mid-May every year. BEWARE ! There are those who are trying to scalp Pimlico in favor of Laurel Race Course in suburban DC, but thanks to Gov. O'Malley, it's going to be decades beforen that happens. The course is in the middle of a mostly Caribbean/Jewish neighborhood, and parking space owners profit BIG TIME when a visitor parks in one of their spaces for $20-$30 during the PREAKNESS ! Other than that, farmer's markets and gamblers who play Keno can get rich off of the items they sell . . . or bet on !

“Tired, just plain tired”

Old Old clubhouse no sense that this is the sport of kings. Located in a really bad part of town I've been there twice over the years and found it depressing both times.

“It was fine. Just nothing special.”

Its a typical race course. Not super amazing but not terrible either. I would go there again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make it happen.
