Inn at Henderson's Wharf

I Did some research of hotels prior to booking here. And decided on Henderson’s after reading such glowing reviews. It seemed that even the most expensive area hotels had a much higher percentage of mediocre or bad reviews, and Henderson’s had basically all positive experiences. Now, having stayed there, its my experience too.

They offer tremendous value. And the location on the water, cant be beat either. That being said, even a hotel with so many positive reviews can get a bad or mediocre one from time to time, but the chances of having a good experience here, I would say is as close to a sure thing as possible.

Remember, customers have to accept some responsibility in making sure their stay is a pleasant one, and that includes asking for what you want, be it the type of room you want, or the view you want, or what the accommodations are like, or ease of parking etc. The more informed you are, the less likely there are that things are not to your liking. Was the parking lot the most convenient, no, but its close, and FREE!!! If it were paved, it might be better, but, it’s a minor issue. Are they the fanciest rooms in the world, no…but neither are they $2500 a night! (Which I’ve done also).
But they are terrific for the money, well furnished, nicely decorated, good attention to detail, and id say worth 50% to 75% more, and equal to rooms twice the price at the major hotel chains, ie; Hyatt, Sheraton, etc. One of the nicest things about these rooms, is, they are not standard, run of the mill, boring, cookie cutter hotel rooms. Ive stayed in lots and lots of those…and never ever….need to remember them for any reason. Even the more expensive hotel chain type rooms are basically the same as the cheap rooms, only a bit larger…big deal!!!

The included continental breakfast is so far above what you would get at any other hotel in this area that its laughable. And, if you have a penchant for snacks or drink in the room, the well stocked mini bar and snack selection is one of the best ive seen…at any hotel! Granted, its for pay, but, its worth the convenience if you get the munchies late at night! The gratis bottle of wine is a nice touch.

The fact that this small hotel makes you feel less of a stranger, and more of a guest, makes you want to come back again and again, and the front desk staff is pleasant, and courteous. So, all in all, on a scale of 1 to 10, id give them a 9.975! the only markdown for the gravel parking lot….but overall……..Bravo Henderson’s, Bravo!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel, booked solely on pictures and others reviews on trip advisor...what a wonderful little place, located at the quieter end of the harbor. If you are looking for a place that is nice and quiet, maybe for a weekend getaway with plenty to do, then this is your place. The room was absolutely wonderful, from the lighting, to the view, to the complimentary bottle of wine, to the fresh orchids in the bathroom. Everything was clean and crisp, truly felt like "our" room. We booked a harborview room that was very unique, one of our walls was completely brick and that gave it the feel of a cobblestone inn. The windows opened up to a view of the harbor that was absolutely beautiful. The security is great too! Everyone coming in has to pass the front desk to gain access to any rooms and there is a secure gated parking lot. If you are looking for a great deal and a short drive to the Inner Harbor main attractions, this is definately the place!!

WONDERFUL!! Beginning with checkin, to the furnishings of the room, the bottle of wine, & the perfect breakfast for free!!
Not one negative thing can be said of this perfect hotel. The room was as if we were staying at a wealthy friends home. Worth going to The Inner Harbor just to stay at the Wharf.

What a find! We've stayed three times now and it's an amazing place to stay. Just outside your door is a ferry over to the Inner Harbor, so the location is ideal. The rooms are large and VERY comfortable. They gave us a bottle of wine when we checked in. The continental breakfast in the lobby is lovely. It's a romantic inn, more of a B & B than a hotel. The Harbour view room is worth the extra few dollars but a courtyard view is just as comfortable, and nice and dark (we are early risers and still slept till 10:00!). Can't say enough about it.

All i can say is Wow! This hotel was amazing! The interior is beautiful, the room was fairly large, all the staff was very nice and talked to us multiple times, asked us about our activities we had told them we were going to do when we came back, took a picture for us, and even recommended a great place to order take out at 11:30 at night. You also get a free bottle of wine (it was a pretty decent one too, no sutter home here) when you check in, and can switch it out for another one (they have about 4-5 options of red, white and even a sparkling). The breakfast was much better then other B&Bs i've stayed at, with fresh fruit including blackberries, blueberries, and red raspberries (in January!). They also include the typical bagel, cereal, etc. There is always coffee and tea available for all patrons 24/7. The courtyard in the middle of the building looked like it would be great to eat breakfast in over the summer. Abit too cold in january though. The water taxi is about 250 yards away and that takes you right into inner harbor \ the aquarium, and in the spring and summer takes you down to ft mchenry. A taxi ride from inner harbor back to the hotel (water taxi closes at 6pm in the winter) cost us $7, which isnt bad at all. Oh and parking is FREE at the hotel, almost forgot to add that in. Overall i dont think i would stay anywhere else in baltimore ever again, it is well worth the price!

Located in the charming Fell's Point area of Baltimore and within walking distance of countless bars and restaurants, this inn is a must stay. Hurricane Isabel (2003) flooded the inn with 2 feet of water. This event lead to a complete renovation leaving the rooms filled with beautifully custom made furniture giving them an antique but comfortable feel. The same proximity to the Patapsco River, which caused so much damage in 2003, leaves the visitor with majestic views of the harbor.

Guests checking in are welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine, a fully stocked snack bar (not comp), robes, comfy bed and flat screen tv. Breakfasts shouldn't be missed as it offers a wide variety of fruits, breads, pastries and juices that are attended to constantly.

It is a cross between staying at home and a first class hotel.

I can't recommend it enough and love both the neighborhood as well as the proximity to Johns Hopkins (which was the reason for our trip). In addition the property offers such amenities as free continental breakfast which is really more of a buffet style.

All in all, first class property.

Thanks Tripadvisor forum for pointing this out .....
