“Good Zoo for a few hours”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2014

While not one of the most famous zoos in the country, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, located in Druid Hill Park, is a pleasant zoo to experience. The zoo size is pretty average sized compared to other zoos around the country, however, they have a few unique animal exhibits that are worth the trip here.

The polar bear exhibit is pretty neat, and allows you to go into a Tundra Buggy, which is what is used in Manitoba, Canada for tourists to experience polar bears in their natural habitat. At the zoo, it lets you get closer to the polar bears as it goes over the top of the exhibit. There are also lions, penguins, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes and much more to experience here.

For those staying in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, a car (or taxi) would be needed to get here. It is good for a 2-3 hour trip though, just for a basic walk through the zoo, stopping at most of the animals.

“Nice Zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

This zoo seemed to me to be on the smaller side but it was still a nice zoo to visit. For us it was about a half day visit. We visited during the Fall so the grounds were lovely with Fall foliage. The animals were accessible and easy to view. Worth a visit.

“Well worth a visit”

We took our 12 year old grandson to this zoo and we all loved it. Then animals are displayed in large open areas. Attended several demonstrations by zoo workers. All in all a very nice zoo.

“Penguins and Giraffes”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Our annual family Christmas day trip this year was to The Maryland Zoo. It's pretty good overall although there were quite a few animals off exhibit due to the winter and construction. Wear your walking shoes as this zoo is quite spread out. There seems to be lots of area to cover with exhibits quite spread out.

“Breakfast with santa at the baltimore zoo”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013

This event was held in the mansion porch. The building is nice but the food vs the price of a ticket ($35) is very poor. Indefinitely expected a better layout of food. Eggs, french toast sticks, potatoes & bacon were the only choice. How about bagels, muffins etc... Especially for those that don't eat hot breakfast. Santa came for the children which was nice... He was so so could have been a little more jolly. The only highlight was a free day At the zoo. All the animals were out. Concessions are horrible. Ordered a small ice tea...$3.25! No lid or straw! Would not attend again.
