“A Fascinating Walk Thru History”

(Re)learned a lot of history and about great African American leaders. Enjoyed the fact that despite some of the horrors recalled (eg, the Middle Passage, lynchings), the museum's message was not about hatred but about hope and overcoming current struggles. The quality of some of the wax figures leaves a little to be desired. And, the gift shop has few pickings. But, overall this was definitely worth the trip!!

“So, much history”
Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

I haven't visit the museum in a number of years. The have add a number of new exhibits Obama of course and a living legends exhibit. Love this place so much history. Glad they are trying to move to a bigger and new location. It's time.

“Viewing of history”
Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

I recently visited the museum and i was totally amazing of how much history they have here. I got the chance to see some real nlack history and to see how us african americans were really treated and how the white people saw us as a piece of property not a human being. I got the chance to learn some inserting facts about us black people who made a difference in this world. It a great museum to visit if you want to learn some real history.

“Great Black in Wax”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

Good learning experience; quite informative and enjoyable. The figures are life like. We decided to purchase the annual pass for a family as we will visit again. It is not downtown. While you can get there using public transit, I would not suggest that if you are not familiar with Baltimore.
