We visit the B & O Museum whenever we are in town but this time, we lucked out and arrived just in time to take the train ride on the most famous mile in railroad history. Wonderful experience even if the scenery leaves a little to be desired. Just knowing where you are riding makes the trip worthwhile!

A must see for train fanatics!

I love seeing the old train engines and walking through the historicl old cars, cabooses, etc. I also love the round-house! This is one of those pleces I keep coming back to see.

Put on your conductor's hat nd be prepred to punch-out trveller's tickets!

Husband I visited took the Charm bus to this museum. Make sure you have plenty of time and have eaten because you will not want to leave this place. There are many exhibits you can enter and see close up and the research has been done well, lots of interesting war and train history and a great look at America from a different view. We were lucky enough to run into a guy who explained so many things to us. His love of the railroad was apparent. Again I would allow at least 3-4 hours for this site. Most of it is not air conditioned, so be advised if the weather is above about 80 degrees may be uncomfortable, but you could always escape back to the front for a few in order to cool off.

There are lots of really cool trains. You can go inside some of them. They tell a great deal of American history. I wish we had a guide or at least headphones with a tape to guide us. It was tiring reading all the long descriptions.

Parking was easy, and exhibits were interesting (find out the true meaning of time in America). A good number of the cars are open for walk through and many things are touchable. Please enjoy.
