“Good for one-time visit...expensive and disappointing.”
Reviewed February 4, 2012

We took our 2-year old here, thinking that it would be an opportunity to visit and learn about trains. That's true I suppose: the roundhouse is exceptional, and so are the trains inside it. The problem is that within an hour, you and your child have pretty much checked off the place. You can only enter one train fully, and part of another. We hoped for a great deal more.

The entry fee is disproportional to the amount of time a person (and a young child) can spend there. I would recommend the Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, instead. You actually ride the train....

“What a wonderful place to visit.”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

We are a train family and love to visit railroad museums. This is one of the best. Their are trains to climb on and play in. There are trains with historical value. The museum is constantly changing to meet the needs of visitors. This is a child's dream come true if s/he is Thomas fan.,..

“Decent Museum”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

My dad used to work on the Illinois Central Railroad. This museum was interesting to me. Several different types of railroad engines and cars to see.
Have your route planned out. this place is near the ghetto of baltimore. You don't want to get lost.
