“cool, casual neighborhood bar serving very good food”
Reviewed September 11, 2013 via mobile

The atmosphere is quintessential Hampden - hipster grubby chic. The lively bar attracts neighborhood types, with a vast beer selection as well as signature cocktails and a reasonable array of wines by the glass.

While the bar dominates the room, there is ample table seating including a sidewalk cafe area. We found the service to be really friendly and efficient, not snobby at all. The food was also really good. We tried the Brussels sprouts and gnocchi appetizers, a special kale salad, the much praised mussels and the shrimp and grits, plus pecan pie for dessert. We were happy with everything. Prices were acceptable.

It was crowded but we had no trouble conversing even though our table was near the bar. I'd surely go back and sample more of the creative menu.

“A pleasant surprise!”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

We went there this past Saturday with friends. When you pull up it looks like a little hole in the wall, but the food and service was a great surprise. Old Bay wings and Brussel Sprouts were great. The serving of "mussels in a green chile sauce" was very large and delicious. My husband got the "meat gyro" and couldn't finish it, so he brought it home. Good beer selection. By the time we left the place was all filled up. I would go back again.

“3.5 stars - cool little place”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

3.5 stars. Grilled Korean gyros were pretty darn good. The real hero - fried peanut butter and jelly delight. I probably pushed my heart attack 5 years sooner than it would have happened, but wow, that was tasty.

“Neighborhood bar”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

My wife and I stumbled into this neighborhood bar on a midday evening for cocktails. This bar has outdoor seating that makes it very attractive but once inside, the restaurant seemed very dark with a huge open space with private booths and a bar in the middle where everyone seems to know each other in the community. Definitely worth a short visit.

“Wonderful neighborhood bar with good food”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

This bar, in the heart of Hampden, is a fun surprise. Clearly a neighborhood hangout, the staff was welcoming. The atmosphere is fun and the space is open - but you can sit in a booth and have some privacy too. We went on wing night and they were tasty. Definitely worth a visit.
