The atmosphere is quintessential Hampden - hipster grubby chic. The lively bar attracts neighborhood types, with a vast beer selection as well as signature cocktails and a reasonable array of wines by the glass.
While the bar dominates the room, there is ample table seating including a sidewalk cafe area. We found the service to be really friendly and efficient, not snobby at all. The food was also really good. We tried the Brussels sprouts and gnocchi appetizers, a special kale salad, the much praised mussels and the shrimp and grits, plus pecan pie for dessert. We were happy with everything. Prices were acceptable.
It was crowded but we had no trouble conversing even though our table was near the bar. I'd surely go back and sample more of the creative menu.
