On the 3rd floor period furniture of the finest. Tells the history of those who founded and developed Baltimore.
Second floor outstanding story of the Patterson family. A glimpse into 18th-19th-century family and social life. Everything well presented.

This is one of Baltimore's truly great museums. Lots to see, but that treat is an original Star Spangled Banner document. It's kept in a special display not always open. I think that alone is worth the trip.

Went to the MdHS for a special event hosted by their Maritime Committee and it exceeded all expectations. The staff is knowledgable and welcoming. The facility was easy to navigate and just awesome.

Very interesting museum to visit. It houses many of the works and other items from the old Peale Museum. Some outstanding painting, especially from the Peale family. Interesting painting of the first dig of a Masterdom found in New York. This started the whole frenzy of dinosaur digs. There are quite a few interesting discoveries here.

On a Sunday afternoon in December, we visited The Maryland Historical Society Museum to tour the museum and to pick up our 2019 Membership cards. As a special "thank you!" for being a member we received a beautiful book, In Full Glory Reflected.

The Society houses the most significant collection of Maryland cultural artifacts, paintings, portraits, porcelain and pottery and silver plus the third floor features a large collection of furniture: including 400 pieces of veneered and painted furniture from the early 19th century, Golden Age of Baltimore furniture production.

We especially enjoyed an exhibition exclusively devoted to
a historical female figure ~ Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte
Woman of Two Worlds and Her Quest for An Imperial Legacy
