“Wonderful art museum”
Reviewed May 12, 2014

The Walters Art Museum has examples of just about everything -- classical European art, of course, but also art from typically un- or under-represented cultures, such as Nepal and Tibet. The collection is distributed across two or three buildings that are connected in unintuitive ways, so be sure to keep consulting the floor plan to be sure that you've seen every nook and cranny. I found it to be worth two visits in a brief visit to Baltimore. It is across the street from a stop on the free Charm City Circulator Purple Route, at the Washington Monument. The staff is very helpful, one even helping me figure out how to get from the Walters to the Baltimore Museum of Art on public transportation.

“Wonderful, if eclectic, collection!”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

We went to the Walters in Feb 2014. It was wonderful. The collection is very varied, with exhibits including natural history, weapons, furniture, paintings, statuary and more. It's not overly large, so you can see everything in one visit. We really enjoyed it!

“Big museum quality in little museum package”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

I have been to many of the great museums across the world. I have always loved museums; and rarely am I ever disappointed in a museum experience. The Walters is something special. It has an extraordinarily high-quality, diverse, and interesting collection that spans many hundreds of years of human history. But what really makes this place special is how intimate it is. You can find peace and space enough to truly ponder and absorb the great works of art that are contained in this museum's walls. And speaking of the museum's walls, the architecture of the museum's buildings is itself a work of art. Please don't miss the opportunity to visit what is arguably Baltimore's finest gem. There is something for everyone here.

“Great Museum”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

The Walters Art Museum provides a wide-ranging comfortable collection of fine art. I appreciated how they recreated parlors to set the scene for viewing the art as the owners might have long ago. In addition, rather than providing detailed narratives posted by each item, a catalog is available for each room if you want more information. They have a significant collection of Asian art, along with Islam and Buddhist (and European).
