A bit on the expensive side, but much more than an aquarium. Gardens, Australia, turtles, eels, lizards, sharks, and lots and lots of fish bring this attraction to life. I heard many squeals of excitement at kids toured this space. the Jelly fish exhibit is a must see -- and do stay for the dolphin show too!

But a fun place to spend the day. Shark cages sure seemed too small for those guys. the Dolphin show was great.

(Read warning at end of this review) - I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the National Aquarium. Incredible variety of sealife in inviting displays on multiple floors. New Australia exhibit beautifully laid out and in very natural habitats. Pier 4 ampitheater area, where they once presented scheduled dolphin shows, is now just a nice, quiet place to visit and watch occasional stimulation interactions and feedings between human caretakers and dolphins. It's a peaceful place to sit and observe WITHOUT all of the screaming of big, choreographed dolphin shows. While we were there, special Native American cultural programs were performed including music and dance. Finally, one word of warning DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on the "4-D Theater Experience". This $5 per person 10-minute long show (that's right - 10 minutes for $5 - do the math, that translates to $30 for an hour) was VERY disappointing as an experience. Yes, your young child will want to go - but make them happy by saving your money, not going, and buying something special for them at the gift shop.

I've been coming to the Aquarium since I was a child, and it has lost none of it's charm. Now I'm bringing my kids here and it's a whole rediscovery of why I love it so much as a child. The areas are totally redesigned, and everything you need is within easy reach on each floor.

The revamped habitats are inviting and well-put together, even for those who need wheels to be mobile. The accessibility is great.

The views into each tank have been expanded and there are handrails for little ones to climb up and get a good look. The larger tanks are still awe-inspiring and the ramps around make it easy to move between tanks.

We got up early to see the new Dolphin Training show, which was neat, if a little short. I really could make this a more than once a year trip - there's so much to see and explore.

Take your kids, it's worth it to see the looks on their faces.

I have no kids but it still worth to check this out. I spent a few hours there and it was a ton of fun. The Jellies Invasion is way cool and entertaining with the music and the lights and colors of the jellyfish. Dolphin discovery is super awesome, they are such smart animals, before the show I was all alone in the viewing area under the pool and one of them came and swim right to me (twice) and just stared (amazing experience). The shark tank is a must see as well.
