“A must for Wyoming traveler”

Fort Laramie National Historic Site
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is a must for travelers who are interrested in the "Wild West". Fort Laramie is a very historic place. They have rebuilt several old buildings in which you can step in. Perfect for a stop over...

A great afternoon trip. We really enjoyed the history here. Don't miss the video in the gift shop. And keep an eye out for rattlesnakes.

We weren't sure what to expect from this site, but were pleasantly surprised! My one regret is that we didn't have more time to spend here! We learned a lot about life in the fort and the historical events that took place in and around it. I would definitely recommend this stop when you are in eastern Wyoming!

Very interesting. This Fort had a brief but interesting part of the early frontier history. A lot to see and take in. They have done a fantastic restoring the buildings and creating an interesting experience. If had been cooler ( it was close to 100 degrees F) we would have spent 3-4 hours here but we ended up spending about 90 minutes. This is worth a visit if you are in an area.

Budget a couple of hours if you enjoy reading the information provided. The rangers were very friendly and if you are collecting stamps for your passport they have a stamp for each trail plus the site, five in all. Unfortunately Wyoming decided to get really hot and we could not spend the amount of time we needed to really explore this site.
