If this is your only dining choice consider fasting!!! We took an early 5:30 reservation to allow time to attend the StarParty at the McDonald Observatory. We we not seated until 5:45 due to the restaurant staff fighting with each other at the reservation podium - fine as we still had plenty of time. The waitress was nice and took our order promptly and we followed her recommendation for entree selections. A number of menu items were not available even though it was a Saturday evening. She recommended the chicken Chardonnay and the trout which were touted as "absolutely fabulous". Additionally, we all ordered a salad or soup. Our salads/soup arrived in 20 minutes or so. The $9 or $10 wedge was literally a quarter head of iceberg lettuce ( normal fora wedge) core and all, a tablespoon of runny ranch, 2 slices of tasteless tomato and a few crumbles of bleu cheese. Really, you can't even cut the core out of the lettuce. We did not see our waitress for another hour. It takes that long to over cook a skimpy chicken breast this bad. Actually two of our group got a generic 'frozen in a bag' chicken breast and the other received 2 chicken tenders, all smothered in a bland watery sauce. All 3 chicken dishes were so overlooked we could not cut them, even with the sharp steak knives we were given. The fourth member of our party had trout which was so fishy smelling and overlooked that she could not eat it. The trout was served with white rice sans any seasoning at all. All four entrees were left uneaten
We like to dine out but are not picky or demanding. We do not require special service or gourmet food, just something well prepared and seasoned. Even after removing the three chicken entrees from the bill we left with a $50+ ticket.
If this is your only dining option save yourself time money and frustration. Consider fasting or grabbing a bag of chips at the local C-store which is what we ended up doing. We made the star party in plenty of time and it was fabulous. Just be sure and MISS this place - one of the few times I have to say absolutely TERRIBLE!!!

We at the Blue Mountain Bistro would like to offer our sincerest apologies for your negative experience at our restaurant. As can be seen by the vast majority of our reviews, your experience was not a typical one. We recently made some management changes which resulted in communication and service problems on the night of your visit. Once the matter was addressed, the team pulled together and service ran smoothly for the remainder of the evening. Unfortunately this incident occurred on one of our busiest nights of the week and impacted more than one party. However, please rest assured we reviewed your experience with our staff to make sure issues of this type will not happen again.

We hope that you will consider visiting us again in the future and see firsthand how the staff at the Blue Mountain Bistro takes pride in offering excellent hospitality and cuisine.

Sincerely,
Matthew Kampf

We just went there for there "a la carte" lunch. The menu was confusing and items were grouped together (such as ham, green beans, cornbread $6.99), rather than being truly offered separately. The pricing is VERY confusing. We wanted some of the things that were offered only with other items....so we just grazed and tried a bit of everything. Honestly, the black bean soup is to die for. Anyway, our bill was almost $30, and we didn't really eat much food. Did we pay per item? Could you eat endlessly of your menu choice? No one would answer our questions.

Occasionally we decide to only have appetizers for dinner--a good decision at the Blue Mountain. The servings were a good size, the taste was excellent and the choices were varied. Service was good too even though there was a wedding reception going on in the courtyard. Just a great experience out in the middle of nowhere!

Decorated nicely. Waitstaff was very attentive and pleasant. The food was good and the servings were generous! We enjoyed our dinner.

This is a nice restaurant with great charm and ambiance. Though the menu is very creative, the execution of the dishes, though good, were far from being top tier quality.
