Absolutely loved my stay! Stayed in the sleeping lion room & was just what I needed! Stayed w/ my kid & King size bed was truly big, lovely decorations, & jacuzzi was heaven. Private entrance & delicious breakfast! Can't wait to return!

Celebrating our 39th anniversary at the Davis Mountain Inn was very special. This was our first time at a B&B. Bill and Nancy made us feel welcome. They gave us ideas on what to see in the area. Our room was upstairs with a separate bath and entrance. Our last night we had the house to ourselves. When we woke up we were surprised to see that Martha had breakfast waiting for us!
This was a very pleasant experience for first timers at a B&B. Loved the experience!!!

Lion room is freezing us out. Tried to call the staff, and no answer after a couple hours, even tried leaving an email. Too late to be looking for another place by the time we got here. Will be surprised if we get a call sometime next week after we're gone. I've had better response at a cheapo Days Inn when things were not right. Maybe 911 would answer faster. Had to pull out all the boy scout knowledge to try and warm up the room - reverse the fan, turn the heater way up in the main room even if it smoked out the other guests(sorry folks), etc. Would not stay here again. Nice scenery nearby, but the area leaves a lot to be desired. I would rather drive another 3 hours to go to Big Bend than come here again. If you like a self help stay and no customer service, then this is the place for you. Forget the scenic detour and stay on I-10.

Room Tip: Lion Room great if you are an eskimo!

The Sleeping Lion Master Suite was very private and quiet. We had our own entrance at the rear of the property with the back porch to ourselves. The staff only came in to the property in the morning. The large breakfast each day prepared by Martha was great. Coffee was ready by 7 AM. Since this was off season we had the entire house to ourselves except for perhaps one or two other couples on some days. We will go back the next time we are in the area.

My husband and I prefer to stay in B & Bs when traveling. We found this fairly new inn to be clean and pleasant. However, there is no live in host/hostess on site. Our room was comfortable and we had a private bath separate from the room. The lady who prepares breakfast and apparently cleans was courteous and prepared hearty meals. The manager is there mornings. It was okay, but a bit more Texas hospitality would have made it better.

The Davis Mountains Inn is new, clean and comfortable. The property is well-maintained and offers a pleasant place to relax after a day of hiking or sightseeing in the area. The Sawtooth Ridge Room on top floor has a sloping ceiling on which we bumped our heads several times (although we were forewarned) and the lighting in the room is poor--no lamps or lights of any kind close to the bed for reading.

Breakfast was nice although the egg dish served the morning we were there was under seasoned for our taste. The back porch and back yard are very pleasant areas in which to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee or glass of wine.

Although many other reviewers commented on the hospitality provided by the owners, they were nowhere in evidence during our stay (admittedly only one night) and we got the impression from staff that they actually are not there very often. In fact, there was no one there when we arrived in the late afternoon and no one showed up at all until the next morning. We were unsure as to whether or not we should lock the front door before we went to bed which was a bit disconcerting. Angela and Martha did an excellent job of making us feel welcome the next morning however.

We stayed in the Sleeping Lion Master Suite with private bath. We enjoyed the extremely comfortable king bed and roomy bathroom with large tub and shower. The owners were not hovering around and had just a few other visitors in the house on some nights. We enjoyed a different breakfast every day. The room we were in had French doors leading directly out on the back porch and felt more private and secluded than the other rooms were. We would definitely stay here again.
