“Nice Park with great views”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

We were not able to get reservations at the Indian Lodge but stopped by to see it and had an iced tea at the Black Bear Restaurant. We drove up to the highest drivable point in the park and it has a lovely view. I would definitely want to stay at the Indian Lodge if I return to Ft. Davis and hike the trails in the park.

Skyline drive was nice and the Nature Center was well cared for with a nice picture window for indoor air conditioned bird watching.

“Two day birding”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Great place to bird watch. Saw 50 species in the Davis Mountain area in two days. Could have sat at the feeder station in the Interpretive Center for hours. Be sure and hike over to the seep in the Primative Area.

“A neat little park with a great scenic drive”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Camping and day visits are the best way to visit this park (avoid staying in the State-run "hotel") located in the Davis Mountains. There's a great drive to the top of a mountain, with two lookouts where you can park and enjoy the vast horizon for many miles. We were there just after Easter weekend and there were no crowds. Very quiet and peaceful. No fee to enter the park. There is a restaurant on site that serves B-L-D.
