Found this place by accident - it's in a converted warehouse across the railway track and by the tram line. A wonderful building conversion with vaulted ceilings and fairly modern decor. During the day you have a great view of shipping on the Columbia River. Food is pretty good and there's a reasonable choice. Beer and cocktails went down well. Dont forget to check out the glass floor between the couches by the fire (there's a skeleton hanging down beneath!)

We're glad you found us down here on the waterfront in the Port of Astoria's west mooring basin. This beautiful old building was a cannery boatyard for the Union Fish Coop in the early 1900's, and the clear Douglas Fir beams and ceiling are as they were (only a little sandblasting to get off the grime) when the building was built. Our architects (Chadbourne + Doss) did a beautiful job of creating a modern look without sacrificing the historic beauty and purpose of the building.

Husband and i visited BB this last weekend for a late lunch/early dinner. It was saturday about $4:30 so it was easy to get a table next to the window. We had a very nice view. We used a rest.com voucher for a little savings as this place is on the pricey side. The clam/mussel chowder was excellent, and made different than any other place i've ever had it. Husband had a T-bone steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, which was cooked perfect. I had the cod fish and chips which was very good. The coleslaw was super delicious as well. Our server was very friendly. Next time would be nice to go when the live music is playing, you probably need a reservation for weekend evenings.

We're glad that you enjoyed your visit with us. Your recommendation that people make reservations on evenings when we have music applies to all summer evenings! We hope you'll come back and enjoy some music on your next visit.

We found Bridgewater Bistro about the same time last year, conveniently located next to our hotel. We made dinner here a priority on this year's trip and the quality and service remain the same--excellent. I ordered the fish of the day and my husband had fish and chips. Both were scrumptious. Portion sizes are on the small-to-medium size and the a la carte menu allows you to order an array of tasty dishes.

Everything was done perfectly, and the timing between courses allowed us to enjoy the boat traffic on the Columbia from the view that washes through the floor to ceiling windows, making the venue bright even on rainy days.

It's possible to get a table right next to the windows, but views from the comfortable booths at the back of the restaurant are more comfortable and offer the same great vistas.

This place was recommended by the hotel clerk and we are glad he did. Nice quiet place on the water to have drinks and dinner. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. 6 drinks and dinner for 2 was about $85, worth every penny.
