“Oh-La-La!”

Wow! This hotel is situated in a stunning location, right under the bridge in Astoria. Our experience was exquisite from start to finish! We were warmly greeted and invited to evening wine and appetizers with other guests. It was all very festive, and I must say - the view is quite stunning.

We were located in a corner room on the third floor, with a beautiful bedroom and a gorgeous sitting room facing the columbia river and the bridge. We were given an itinerary of ships that would be coming and going, along with binoculars. It was great fun to watch the movement and see some of the faraway places these ships had traveled from. There were also seabirds, who entertained us by swooping and splashing in the waters near the shore at low tide.

The decor was first class and even includes a museum offering tribute to the historic salmon industry in the area of years gone by. The hallways featured salmon canning labels, with fun artwork. We took advantage of the gorgeous spa, which is included in your stay. We had a fabulous jacuzzi with a beautiful view and then enjoyed the sauna as well, all the while as our laundry was being done - which was a must after a week on the road.

They offer transportation to local restaurants in their very cool vintage cars, but we opted to walk across the pier to the Breakwater Bistro - where the service, food, and ambiance was top-notch!

Good times in Astoria, we loved the Cannery Pier Hotel!!!

The Camnery Pier Hotel doesn't miss 1 detail! The service was impeccable. The rooms are well well designed with no waste of space. The rooms have balconies facing the river and gas fireplaces. Every detail from sheets to bedding is considered and of the highest quality. The free bikes for use are fun along with the chauffeur car. Don't miss the stay here!

We recently stayed here on our last night of our road trip of the Oregon coast. We chose this Romantic setting as it was also our 37th anniversary. We chose to get a corner suite with the Jacuzzi tub. We visited a local restaurant for a nice dinner and returned to the hotel to enjoy the sunset and view from the beautiful corner suite. My wife went into the bathroom to use the jacuzzi tub and came out a few minutes later very upset. She had run hot water in the tub and when she started the jets black mold / mildew was floating in the water. When the tub was drained we noticed all the jets were dirty and it was apparent the tub hadn't been sanitized properly in quite a while. (We took pictures to show all mentioned items to the management if needed). We then looked around the room more closely ( like most people would do if you ever had to stay at a budget hotel). We found mold and mildew around the entire base of the shower. We obviously were upset that after paying almost $400.00 per night for this suite we had to inspect for cleanliness! When we checked out the next morning I discreetly mentioned the condition of our room to the front desk and they thanked me for handling it with civility and a man who appearred to be management immediately stepped to the side to contact housekeeping (pictures were not needed to make our point). Fact is, I didn't want to worsen the anniversary any more by making a scene to top it off. Hopefully housekeeping improves to a level that keeps return clientele who will pay for rooms at this price point coming back.

I can't formulate enough good words to describe the Cannery Pier Hotel in Astoria. To begin, the staff were unusually warm and friendly. Upon our arrival they patiently reviewed all of the amenities that are available, and assured us that they would do everything they could to make our stay welcoming. Our room was surprisingly large, with a huge bathroom that included a claw foot tub. The view was incredible with an enormous bridge and passing tankers that seemed as though you could reach out and touch them. Cheese, appetizers, and wine were provided every night at five in the lounge, and then we were chauffered to our favorite restaurants in vintage automobiles. What could be better? We will be back!

Room Tip: All rooms have a tremendous view. The lower floors accept animals, so if you are allergic, choose t...

We stayed 2 nights in the large 1 bedroom suite and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were greeted with wine and cookies (arrived during the reception hour). Our room turned out to be the ADA room so halls and bathroom were bigger and there was a walk-in shower.

We loved the view from the room and corner balcony. The hotel is located on a pier very close to the Columbia-Megler Bridge and we watched ships pass under the bridge day and night. The hotel even provided binoculars in the room.

The accomodations were very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. There is a fitness room (available 24 hours) spa, and guest laundry.

There is no restaurant on premise but the staff suggested several restaurants, had menus on the places available, and offered to drive us to any destination in their antique autos. We chose to have pizza delivered to our room instead. There was a continental breakfast, mainly donuts, rolls, cereals and juices. It was still very good.

There is a paved path which will take you to the downtown area. Along the way are a Marine Memorial Park, several restaurants, and local businesses. The trolley also runs along this path. There are several places where you can catch the trolley. We didn't use it so I don't know if there is a cost or just how often it runs. The walk to downtown is about a mile.

I am looking forward to to future stays at this hotel.

Room Tip: There are only 47 rooms in the hotel. I believe all have a riverview.

This is our second stay at the beautiful hotel right on the river. The rooms are super clean and modern with small decks perfect for watching the ships. The rooms each have binoculars for catching the activity outside. The staff is attentive and ready to help with any request. They have an afternoon wine social with appetizers of cheese and salmon/cream cheese on sliced bread. Breakfast is included with the room and there is always a fresh fruit basket available. We did not take advantage of the complimentary vintage car shuttle but the looked like fun. We loo, forward to our next stay.

Let me start by saying this is a very unique hotel in an amazing setting, which makes it worth a stay. The room layout is great.
The ships and the sunrise were wonderful.
I did not feel like the room was very clean. Big black mark on the bed skirt, mold/mildew in the shower corners and spots on the bathroom floor. The concept is great but the furnishings lack quality. The TV remote was very frustrating, we had constant issues with it.
Enjoyed the experience but probably will not return.
