“An easy choice for an amazing breakfast.”
Reviewed December 3, 2012 via mobile

Real petrale sole for breakfast? Yes
Homemade bread and awesome homemade jellies? Yes
This was one of the best breakfast meals I've had and I will be back. The attention to detail and exceptional ingredients remind me of the days when a restaurant owner cared about what they put on a plate. Truly a special meal.

“Time Warp Eatery”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

This intimate cafe is dedicated to high quality, organic and local foods. They have a full bar and lots of wines and beers. Love their crepes of differnet flavors. Sit at the bar and engage the chef, or sit in one of the old wooden booths.

“A Great Hole in the Wall”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

3 booths and 8 stools and, in my view, the best food in Astoria.

They make their own pepper based jelly; they bake their own bread. They make their own pasta. Only fresh fish and fresh veggies. A variety of mushrooms in season.

Favorite breakfast is the "Power Tower with nutty rice, diced veggies topped with two eggs all resting on a tortilla shell.

Meat selections are rather limited. If you want steak, go somewhere else.

Everything prepared right where you can see it.

“It's not just another small town cafe!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

At first glance, you might think this cafe is like all the other small town cafe's. It's not the case. Everything is made fresh to order from the freshest ingredients. The staff doesn't go shopping for frozen goods from the local wholesale grocer. Many recipes, such as the beet pesto, are unique to the Columbian Cafe. As mentioned by other reviewers, the service can be slow but that shouldn't be a deterrent to going there. While you wait for your food, check out the great vintage decor and unusual pictures hung about. If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the counter, watching the chef cook is pure entertainment. It is an art to produce such delicious food in such a small working place. Everything we have tasted there has been cooked to perfection. Be sure to check out the special's board on the back wall. There is where the best of the best is offered and always at a reasonable price.
