We came in for lunch and had a nice meal. It didn’t knock our socks off but the service was on point, the food was good, maybe a bit pricey for what we got. The atmosphere was good to. Even on a rainy foggy day the view of the Columbia was impressive. Our server was very pleasant and offered helpful suggestions on the menu. Come here and enjoy yourself.

In search of a late lunch we found this great restaurant/bar with unparalleled views of the Columbia down on the waterfront. We chose a small window table in the bar and had terrific service - all the wait staff were friendly and talkative. The menu ranges from pizza to salads, soups, sandwiches, and a variety of entrees with a full bar. The tomato basil soup was excellent paired with the grilled Caesar and a bread plate. Just right for a chilly and rainy day. Great flavors, great service, great price.

We were planning to spend the weekend at Seaside but drove to Astoria for lunch that would give us sometime before checking into our hotel. We always try to find a waterfront restaurant and boy! were we surprised when we found Baked Alaska.
On the waterfront, with an excellent view of the Columbia River and Megler bridge. As we had lunch, we could see the fog rolling across the water from Washington. An awesome sight!!!
The restaurant was very neat with great service and good food. We shared a pizza ' The Chunk '. It has enough calories but you can burn it on the beach later;) We followed it with their signature dessert ' Baked Alaska '. It was awesome. We loved it. We had to walk extra lengths at the beach that evening but certainly did not mind that!

No, it’s not a bakery nor is it an ice cream parlor. It’s a full-fledged bar and restaurant. Trot down a short rickety road from the main drag, Marine Drive, toward the water.

Don’t let them sit you down by the entrance. It’s uninviting. Let them take you through a noisy bar toward the back. There’s a full-sized attractive restaurant with big bright windows over the river below.

Up front hosting service leaves to be desired, but in the back has perfect waitress service. Soup of the Day ($7) White bean with lamb bacon. Big portion, enough for two. B+. Asking for some bread, promptly come several slices of different, fresh bread. And creamed butter and a small bowl of tasty oil with some vinegar. B+.

Fresh Catch of the Day: Halibut ($32) Pan-fried on kiwi. Big portion, 7 ounces, with apple compote and a twig of elder-berry on top for decoration. Presentation: A. Fish perfectly cooked, flaky and tasty. A delight: A.

Smoked salmon sandwich ($18). With slightly spicy mushy salmon. Also tasty. B+

Food value: B+

Be back? Would like to for the Fresh Catch of the Day. The best food experience in all of Astoria.

Beautiful fall day and the views are fabulous from this place. I had the fish and chips. They were good but not worth the price. Nowhere near as good as The Ship Inn which is gone as of September 2017. The chips were very good but very scant.

My wife had the seafood stew being a big fan of cioppino. That traditional dish is tomato based and this was not. That's ok but we were told that it was made with a vegetable stock even though the menu clearly said it was made with a fish stock.

It had many of the same types of seafood as cioppino but was a clear fish stock. Still, not bad but came in a large bowl that held barely a ladle full of stew. No garnish, no side, not even a bread stick. Again not worth the price. Also the bowl was hot but the meal was not. That said prep error to me and not what an upscale restaurant should do.

The food there is very good, not great but we were disappointed by the small portions, the cold stew and the $46.00 for two people. It was as if the staff that day was not aware of how to operate a place of that intended quality.
