As many times as we've been to Astoria, we've never been to Baked Alaska restaurant. Before you ask, yes...the make 2 different types of the baked Alaska dessert. Sadly, we were too full to eat one. We shared the grilled romaine salad which was delicious. Grilled perfectly with the tastiest dressing. Each has a cup of the clam chowder which was perfectly seasoned with bacon etc. We also split the halibut dinner with roasted beets. The halibut was cooked exactly right with crisp skin and flavored sauce. The restaurant sits over the beautiful Columbia River watching the tugs and boats drift by. The weather was beautiful and wind calm for walking along the wharf before and after dinner. You must stop here. Oh, in the front of the building it a pizzeria owned by the same people. People coming out said it was the best pizza around. Tomorrow night that and the baked Alaska! YUM!

The view is unbeatable, the service is excellent, but it's the burger I'll remember most. Jalapeno jelly, kobe beef and pork belly combine and create magic on a bun. The house baked bread before my meal was also delicious.

This restaurant is perched on a pier on the south side of the Columbia River. This was my second time at Baked Alaska. I had clam chowder for lunch and it was served in a large, artistic bowl. It was very tasty and so was the bread. We were there in the midst of a snowstorm and were their only customers, so had our pick of tables. The restaurant was spotless with a gleaming wood floor and large windows on three sides. The staff was friendly and efficient. I love this restaurant for the view-- seagulls wheeling by, cormorants floating on the river waves and disappearing as they dove for fish, and this time five large cargo ships were lined up in the river, waiting to go out to sea. Their motto is "The only thing we overlook is the Columbia River". I hope to return again.

this restaurant was recommended to us by friends and we were glad we took their advice. great location right on the water with views of the river and ship traffic. (outside seating available in good weather)

my husband had fish and sweet potato fries (i tasted them - good)
and i had Asiago and aged Jack fondue served with apple and pear slices and sourdough bread chunks. delicious.

i also had their field green salad that had hazelnuts, pears, and blue cheese . fantastic.

i thought the serving sizes were generous and very reasonably priced.
