We were travelling down the Oregon coast scenic highway so wanted somewhere to stay just off the road. This hotel is not in a scenic area; it's an industrial area with boat repair yards but there is a good view of the bridge and it's on the River Walk into town.

We asked for a quiet room and got just that. The distant view was of the water and we watched boats going in and out but the immediate view was of heaps of scrap metal which looked like it was being moved slowly so that could be a good thing in the long run. The room was spacious and everything we could ask for was there; we had a good night's sleep.

The breakfast room was small but was kept stocked up and we had no trouble getting a table.

There is also a nice laundry room with table and chairs to use while your washing is going through.

We took the River Walk to the lovely Bridgewater Bistro (separate review) and passed the preserved trolley stop into town.

Thanks to a previous reviewer, who said the hotel was through U Haul so it's the first left on Hamburg, we found it easily.

Somehow this hotel looks a bit dour as the floors in the public areas and half-way up the walls are in grey and brown slate tiles but this is very practical and we liked it. We would certainly stay here again.

I was in town on business and stay in hotels quite often. I was very pleased with the quality of the accommodations, general appearance of the hotel and the value received for my stay. I was also very impressed by the hotel staff with their helpfulness and making me feel valued as a customer. I will highly recommend this hotel again.

Stayed here on our first night doing the Oregon Coast. The hotel is not in the best place in Astoria, but not bad. It is down by the bridge that goes out of town towards the ocean. There is a boat yard between the hotel and the river, and a rental place in front, but there are some positives. The area is quiet, there is a short trail along the river, and if you get on the fourth floor, there is a view of the river and the bridges. Our room was on the fourth floor with a good view. Bed was great, room was very clean and seemed updated. The staff downstairs was very friendly and helpful. This was a good experience. It is not the Four Seasons, it is a good Best Western hotel. The price was acceptable. Hotels in Astoria seem to be on the high side for this fishing town. There is no restaurant close by without getting in the car. They did have a good breakfast included. There are plenty of restaurants within a two or three mile radius to satisfy most every taste. All in all, a good value.

Room Tip: Top floor on the west end.

This hotel has great service, and a nice breakfast. The indoor pool and hot tub are clean. Rates are usually better than the other quality hotels in Astoria! We have stayed here on 2 separate occasions, and plan to stay here the next time we are in Astoria.

The rooms are large and clean. The room had a river view (albeit, through an industrial storage area) and no flaws. Service was prompt and friendly. The breakfast was all that could be expected; tasty (except for the scrambled eggs, which are never good in ANY hotel unless they are made to order) and warm. There were two wafflers and they were well-used. Also, yogurt, toast, juice, good coffee, fruit...couldn't have asked for more. One problem; the rate I was quoted on the phone for 2 queens was $128.00 plus tax but when I got there, the manager insisted that the rate was $135.00 plus tax. I suggest you get a "lock" on the rate that you are quoted here. Perhaps, ask for an email confirmation.

Room Tip: Might try the upper floors for a better river-viewing experience.
