The Best Western Lincoln Inn in Astoria is a basic Best Western property - clean, comfortable, but not as special as some of the other reviews would suggest. The staff at the front desk were very helpful about suggestions for dinner. The breakfast room is undersized and people were eating all over the lobby. We would stay there again, but out of the six Best Western properties we stayed at during our two week trip to Oregon (this chain pretty much owns this part of the state), this hotel was the least special.

Dear Simonthecellar,

Thank you for staying with us back in 2011. I apologize this response to your great post is so delayed. I am the new General Manager for the Best Western in Astoria and I wanted to let you know that we are even better than when you stayed with us last. With a new exterior and FULL interior renovation we have re-imaged and are looking forward to improving even further.

I want to invite you to stay with us again on your next trip to Astoria, Oregon so we can give you a better experience than your last stay.

After a week of traveling through the San Juan Islands, the Olympic Peninsula, and into Oregon, and not getting much sleep in the various motels and hotels we stayed in, I was pleasantly surprised by the Best Western in Astoria. Very clean - great beds with nice pillows - quiet - and all around comfort. Lovely room - interesting view of the docks, and a view of the bridge. Great cookies when we checked in too!

We were felt very welcome at this hotel. When we told the manager it was our 50th wedding anniversay, he upgraded us to a jacuzzi and fireplace room with a view of the Columbia River. Also, he advised us on the local sightseeing, and that proved to be excellent. The reception we received made us a believer in Best Western.

Room Tip: You might want to ask for our room #344. Jacuzzi and fireplace.

We enjoyed many aspects of the hotel but the front desk agent Seth really went above and beyond professionalism and helpfulness. They were totally booked when we arrived on the Saturday night (we hadn't made a reservation) but Seth kindly helped us find a room elsewhere. When we traveled back to the area the next day after visiting Cannon Beach we stopped back in to find the same agent just as helpful again and this time able to provide us with a great newly renovated King room on the second floor just in time for a spectacular sunset over the water. The rate was good, the continental breakfast was excellent.
We would most definitely recommend this as a good choice. Thanks for a comfortable, quite, enjoyable stay.

The room had beautiful furniture and the bed was so comfortable! We especially loved the granite shower surround. We slept like babies because the walls were thick so we couldn't hear what anyone was doing!
