“Narnia (kind of) via the door in the diner”

This was the only place open after midnight in Astoria on a Sunday.

Through the door in the false wall at the end of the diner was a checkered floor, a pool table, some video lottery machines, a karaoke stage, and the matriarch of all bartenders. A goofy-looking place with an identity crisis that's fun to chuckle at initially, but it will suck you in to its weirdness until you're having a good time and not giving a care how you look.

Genuine, if not odd.

Best visited when drunk and hungry and looking for wobbly times.

I had breakfast here a couple of times during a stay in Astoria. Located in the historic Labor Temple building, it is a bar as well as a cafe. Bit rough around the edges. Typical diner menu and quality - nothing fancy but lots of decent food at a reasonable price in an interesting location.

As a bar, this place is just ok. Karaoke, very nice bartender, ok surroundings...
As a midnight diner, this place is excellent! Offering up food for the drunken masses super quick. The waitress is feisty as they come, but she cracked us up. And considering the amount of people that come pouring, you can't blame her. Surely an Astoria experience you won't forget. Definitely worth it if you're still up at midnight looking for a breakfast treat.

We have been to the labor temple a few times for breakfast and the food is good, well priced, and the service is good. This is the kind of place that your not going to rant and rave about but you will leaving thinking that you had a good meal, it was quick, and priced well.

Average, but we were glad to find a place for a drink after 9 pm in Astoria. Good drink and service.
