You can make your own mini movies here and see the jail from the opening scene of The Goonies. Nothing else to do here, but for $2 (for kids...$4 for adults) a fun way to kill an hour.

This museum was a lot of fun as I am a HUGE Goonies fan! It's not expensive and there are a lot of photo opportunities and chances to film yourself in a real movie set. I loved the opportunity to take a mug shot and be photographed in the same cell as Jake Fratelli from The Goonies. The gift shop is a lot of fun and moderately priced. Staff was friendly! A MUST for a Goonie!

We were in Astoria for Goonies day and spent the day exploring museums and such and really had a good time at the film museum, it was really interesting to see all the Goonies exhibits and then even some for some other movies that have been filmed in Oregon. Definitely a must see!

We stopped at the Oregon film Museum while we were up in Astoria for the Goonies weekend. I'd have to say that if you have never saw the Goonies the Museum would still be interesting but not all that great. I am giving it an Excellent raiting because I have seen the Goonies - if you have seen it then you know it was filmed in Astoria and the film is the towns claim to fame so it's no wonder that thier is much Goonie stuff.

There are two different areas to the Museum, the first is the jail which is littered with Goonies facts and fun items to take photos with - there are other facts about the jail and the town history that have nothing at all to do with the Goonies as well.

The second room has three different small movie sets where you can actually make your own film and have it sent to you.

The gift shop is small but cute.

I'd say stop in just to check out the history - the building really was a jail so even if you dont love the Goonies it's worth the stop and you can tour it in under 20 minutes.

It is located in the old city jail (interesting building), but mostly seemed like it was all based on a movie called The Goonies that was filmed in Astoria. I might have enjoyed it more if I had seen that movie??
